61 Where is your faith? Deut 7:2 Radioman 24502
Charis: Rudeness and arrogance are coop1's foremost qualities. I agree with you 100 percent when you say to coop1:

"I, for one, have had enough of your musings, assumptions, and oblique accusations of 'blood lust' and warmongering."

64 But What is it? Deut 7:2 Radioman 24483
"A heavenly language, known only to God"?

Acts 2:6-8 (NKJV) ...everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?"
65 What is God's teachings on military war? Deut 7:2 Radioman 24478
  Dear sweet coop1:

By your tone it is apparent that you bear a lot of hostility towards me for having been in a war. Why don't you just come right out and label me a monster and a baby killer? Don't try to justifiy your hostility with your sophistry and piety.

You asked: "Are you looking for recognition for having contributed to war?"

No. How do you interpret "I am living proof that war is hazardous to one's health" to mean that I am looking for recognition or hero status. And how do you imply that I worship heroes of war and not God? Another nutty assumption. Show me where I said one word about heroes or made any comparison between those who fight in a war and those who choose not to. Your pious pacifist propaganda against this country and its freedoms is an offense to every veteran.

Having written 239 postings since March, I know this is a BIBLE forum. If you have a point, would you mind telling us what it is?

I have looked and I find no biblical back up for your position. A lot of other people on this forum don't see any biblical support for your position either. You have not proven or disproven anything.

As I told you in plain English in my previous post: "I am not arguing the rightness or the wrongness of your opinion." So WHY would I need biblical back up? Back up what?

It doesn't take an expert to have enough sense to know that the purpose of the Army is to break things and kill people - period. Whether that is something a Christian should take part in has nothing in the world to do with what I was trying to say. Read it again in context. My point is if someone has a family member who joined the military, they should expect that someday they may have to take up arms against an enemy. What did they think they were getting into when they joined? The Army is NOT the Peace Corps.

And again I told you in plain English "I am not arguing the rightness or the wrongness of your opinion." So why are you asking me to defend a position? That our freedoms were bought with the blood of America's veterans is not an opinion. It is a mere statement of fact.

After more than 27 postings by you, we all have a pretty good idea what your opinion is. No one will ever convince you that your opinion in this matter is biblically wrong. And I told you I'm not arguing your opinion. "I'm not arguing the rightness or the wrongness of your opinion." I'm just telling you that in my opinion, you have run it into the ground.

You're right. This is a Bible forum. It's not a forum for people to write dozens of postings in order to defend an opinion. If you had a point that you haven't already made 27 times, that would be different.

I know you don't believe in war. Under the U.S. Constitution (but not Muslim law) you have the right not to believe in war.

I say again: "I am not arguing the rightness or the wrongness of your opinion. But a) please don't try to pass off your opinion as absolute truth; and b) it's getting a bit wearisome."

Give it a rest. K?

66 What is God's teachings on military war? Deut 7:2 Radioman 24388
What is God's teachings on military war?

Military war is the worst kind. I am living proof that war is hazardous to one's health. I'd much rather be involved in a non-military war.

coop1: On this particular thread, I count 27 postings by you. Is it anywhere in your nature to wind it up and stop torturing us with post after post after post, all saying the same thing? You made your point and said all you have to say about 25 posts ago. Are you going to make a career of posting anti-war statements?

In all honesty and fairness, I can understand your concern for your son's safety. What parent wouldn't understand this? If I had a son in the military, I wouldn't want to see him in danger either. But, for starters, that's what the Army is all about. The Army doesn't exist so one can be all that he can be. It doesn't exist as a social experiment or to provide educational opportunities. Anyone who joins the Army should know that the purpose of the Army is to break things and kill people.

May I point out to you that it is the very country whose freedoms you don't think worth fighting for that gives you the liberty of saying or publishing your opinion? This and other freedoms, of which you think so little, were bought and paid for by blood -- the blood of American veterans.

I am not arguing the rightness or the wrongness of your opinion. But a) please don't try to pass off your opinion as absolute truth; and b) it's getting a bit wearisome.
67 How do we open eyes to truth? Deut 7:2 Radioman 24335
You MUST take Scripture in context to get at the true meaning of it. In Matthew 24:16 Jesus is speaking to ONE particular group of people, at ONE particular time, in ONE particular place.

He is speaking to "them who are in Judea," not to all people in all places.

He says these exact words: "Then (when v. 15 is fulfilled, not anytime a war breaks out) let them who are in Judea flee into the mountains."

Are you in Judea? Am I? Is the President? Were the twin towers in Judea? Was Matthew 24:15 fulfilled on 9-11-01?
68 What does "3" stand for in the Bible? Isaiah Radioman 24333
When you labeled your previous post "Speculation.....," I assumed you meant casiv's speculation. That's the only speculation I've seen in this thread.

I know I'm going to regret that I dignified your posting with a reply. But, here goes!

You write: "you cannot prove one number wrong that Bullinger has proven."

Bullinger has proven NOTHING. He instructs NO ONE. He has NOTHING to say.

None of us has to prove Bullinger wrong. The burden of proof is upon the one who makes the assertion. You assert that there is something to Bullinger's theory/fantasy of numbers. Therefore, the burden of proof is on you, son.

Does it say "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the *numbers* of God?" I don't think so.

You would do better to toss Bullinger's book into the dumpster, stop *writing* to the forum and, instead, start *reading* your Bible without the "help" of crackpot writers like Bullinger.

While you're at it, you need to lose Puppetmaster.
69 can you lose your salvation Hebrews Radioman 24324
Yes, you can lose *your* salvation. If you are the source of your salvation, then you can lose it.

However, salvation is of the Lord. You cannot lose the salvation Christ gives you.
70 Where is your faith? Deut 7:2 Radioman 24288
You're angry? If anyone implies that this country (USA) and its freedoms are not worth fighting for, then it is that person who sparks anger in other people.
71 the voice of god John 10:27 Radioman 24279
  John 10:27

My sheep respond to my voice, and I know who they are. They follow me," (GOD'S WORD Version)
72 Is God Right Handed? John 4:24 Radioman 24263
Question: "Would it be safe to say or could it be proven to some degree that God himself is right handed?"

Answer (short): No.

Answer (full): The idea that God is right-handed is one of the top 1,000 weirdest ideas I've seen on the forum -- this week. I nominate this question for the coveted Panthera Leo Strang Award.

First, God is Spirit (John 4:24). He is not body. He is Spirit. God does not have a physical body.

Second, the right hand of God is a figure of speech. (Lookup "right hand" at the following website: http://bible.crosswalk.com/Dictionaries/BakersEvangelicalDictionary/)

The next thing you know someone will be asking if God holds his toothbrush in his right hand.
73 Gen.3:15 Gen 3:15 Radioman 24188
EdB: And I am not denying that the devil and every power in the universe is subject and subordinate to the sovereign power of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I was merely clarifying what the Scripture actually says. But that in no way contradicts, but merely clarifies. Thank you, brother, for all the accurate, informative postings that you consistently submit.

76 Is is right to call money a seed? NT general Archive 1 Radioman 24045
They want to be teachers of God's law, but they do not understand their own words or the matters about which they speak with so much confidence. 1 Timothy 1:7 (TEV)

No one could possibly understand the things you write.

It is obvious that you do not understand anything anyone writes to you.

Thanks a lot for answering questions I never asked and for ignoring the issues I brought up and the questions I did ask. That was very helpful.
77 Is is right to call money a seed? NT general Archive 1 Radioman 24012
Congratulations! You have done an amazing job of taking the words that I wrote and twisting them around to mean the exact opposite of their intended meaning. Is this how you test the translations? Is this how you interpret Scripture?
78 Is is right to call money a seed? NT general Archive 1 Radioman 24000
You write: "what I think is the right way to test the translations and/or transliterations is to let scripture interpret scripture and study words into their original languages."

It seems to me that more often than not we don't test the translations; instead, the translations test us and our "knowledge," whether those things are so.

It takes a lot of learning or presumption to get a man so deep that he is qualified to second guess every verse of every translation.

I'm not saying that every or any translation is infallible. However, when one questions a particular passage of a translation, often it is because that passage doesn't agree with that person's doctrine. Therefore, the individual feels the need to change the wording of the translation until it does support his/her doctrine.
79 Exodus, read it! Bible general Archive 1 Radioman 23998
What part of your previous post does Exodus prove? The part about God's telephone or the part about God's teeth? By the way, what brand of toothpaste does He use?
80 What does Matthew 24: 28 mean? Matt 24:28 Radioman 23822
  Ross:

I am speaking for myself only. I do not presume to speak for or be a spokesman for anyone else, although I know that others on the forum are in agreement with me. If they choose to submit their own views regarding this subject, then that is their decision. Sir, in all honesty, I have no hostility or animosity toward you as a person.

However, I would like to point out to you that this is a StudyBibleForum.

1) The first word is "Study." Study -- not criticize, dilute, cast doubt upon, degrade, twist, distort, etc.

2) The second word is "Bible." Not the Koran, the Book of Mormon, the Watchtower, or Baha'i books and publications. The word is BIBLE.

My point: The purpose of this forum is to ask and answer honest questions about the Bible.

The purpose is neither:

1) Bible bashing;

2) Christianity bashing;

3) Christian church bashing; nor

4) Proselytizing for the Baha'i religion.

Again, I do not mean to be unkind to you personally. But I must say: If your purpose in being here is ultimately to proselytize for the Baha'i religion; and if your method includes bashing or distorting Christianity; then you might be happier elsewhere. No one logs onto this forum to learn more about the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Moonies, the Loonies, or the Bahai's.

My wish is that you would not go away angry. However, your continued preaching, propagandizing and proseltyzing for the Baha'i religion is something without which we can do.
