"I was seeking reasons for Christians to attend Sunday Service and not reasons for Christians NOT to attend Sunday Service." If there is a preacher there, on Sunday, preaching the Word of God, that is the only reason you need if you want to go to the service. It is not a special day of the week laid out in the Bible. In my local assembly I can also go to church on Wednesday or Friday and hear the Word of God. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Praise the Lord! Norm |

It is customary. Galatians 4:8-11 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. Praise the Lord! Norm |

9 | Why does Psalm 82:6 say we are gods? | John 10:34 | TheFinalSQL | 127544
10:34–36 Quoted from Ps. 82:6 where God calls some unjust judges "gods" and pronounces calamity against them. Jesus’ argument is that this psalm proves that the word "god" can be legitimately used to refer to others than God Himself. His reasoning is that if there are others whom God can address as "god" or "sons of the Most High," why then should the Jews object to Jesus’ statement that He is "the Son of God" (v. 36)? John F. I would, add as a scripture that shows the day of week not being important, this: Acts 2:46-47 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Praise the Lord! Norm |

11 | the how and why? | Eph 5:25 | TheFinalSQL | 127517
5:25 love your wives. Though the husband’s authority has been established (vv. 22–24), the emphasis moves to the supreme responsibility of husbands in regard to their wives, which is to love them with the same unreserved, selfless, and sacrificial love that Christ has for His church. Christ gave everything He had, including His own life, for the sake of His church, and that is the standard of sacrifice for a husband’s love of his wife. Cf. Col. 3:19. John F. Ancient, I can feel what you are going through (I believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, but I do not believe in the trinity doctrine.) even though I do believe church, for me personally, church attendance is required. Not for attendance sake, but rather to hear the word. I do my best to let the scripture speak for itself. In this day and age one would hard pressed to hear the word anywhere except church and even then you will be blessed to actually hear the word. Here are some scriptures that present the need for an overseer, a shepard, one to guide you. Church is the best place to find them, a local assembly. Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Ezekiel 3:17-21 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul. Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Acts 8:30-31 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. cometh - a continual process Ephesians 4:11-16 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. Church, local assemblies, is simply the best place in these days to find this guidance. Praise the Lord! Norm |

14 | Who did the devil murder? | 2 Pet 2:4 | TheFinalSQL | 127426
The father of lies: Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: Murderer from the beginning: Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. I would have to conclude the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was created before the devil sinned. God created evil. He created everything. John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Without evil there would not be the freedom of choice, we would have been robots: Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. 15 | Who did the devil murder? | 2 Pet 2:4 | TheFinalSQL | 127422
Who did the devil murder? We are told by Jesus that the devil was a murderer from the beginning: John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
