Lazarus John 11:1-44 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was. Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him. Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already. Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off: And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house. Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee. As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him. Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there. Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. Praise the Lord! Norm |

The bible suggests the head of Jesus was covered separately from the rest of his body. John 20:7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Praise the Lord! Norm |

24 | The Real stature of Satan | Is 14:16 | TheFinalSQL | 127015
14:12–14 fallen from heaven … be like the Most High. Jesus’ use of v. 12 to describe Satan’s fall (Luke 10:18; cf. Rev. 12:8–10) has led many to see more than a reference to the king of Babylon. Just as the Lord addressed Satan in His words to the serpent (Gen. 3:14,15), this inspired dirge speaks to the king of Babylon and to the devil who energized him. See Ezek. 28:12–17 for similar language to the king of Tyre and Satan behind him. 14:12 heaven. The scene suddenly shifts from the underworld to heaven to emphasize the unbridled pride of the king and Satan energizing him. Lucifer, son of the morning. Lit. “Lucifer” means “shining one,” but translators have often rendered it “morning star.” Tradition of the time saw the stars as representing gods battling among themselves for places of preeminence. 25 | Lucifer kicked out of heaven | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 127002
I am mindful of your feelings. Here is a scripture to take into account in regard to Satan's fall from heaven. NASB: Luke 10:18 And He said to them, I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. KJV: Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Reading Revelation 12 it does make it difficult to determine what happened when. Reading Matthew 4 Jesus being led to the wilderness to be tempted... I think I just found the answer. I see what you are saying of Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28. I think they serve a dual purpose. Luke 10:18 is past tense. Jesus seen Satan fall from heaven. Now lets look at Isaiah 14:12 Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! Notice fallen is past tense. Just as Luke 10:18 Ezekiel 28:16 however is future tense Ezekiel 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. I will cast out, future tense. Fall from heaven, past tense. I would have to conclude falling from heaven and being cast out from heaven as being two different events. Satan's fall from heaven has aleady happened, but Satan has not yet been cast out from heaven. Praise the Lord! Norm |

Did anyone backup their order with scripture? I'll add missing events. Hear the Word Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Holy Spirit's convicting the sinner Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Faith Acts 8:36-37 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Repent Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins (also shows the proper order for repent) Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance as evidence of receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Regeneration, meaning spiritual birth, spiritual renovation, messanic restoration Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Salvation I would say is not an event to be put in this order but rather a description of the entire process. Acts 2:41-42 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Thank you Jesus!!! Praise the Lord! Norm |

27 | I suppose he was not tempted, either? | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 126876
Jesus was tempted. Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. I think your running into one of those areas where this trinity doctrine has issues. How could Jesus be tempted if he is God and God cannot be tempted? Jesus died a man and rose as God Almighty. Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Praise the Lord! Norm |

29 | Things people THINK in the BIBLE but not | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 126706
You understand it correctly. Yes, Jesus definately had the opportunity to sin, but a sin nature is not required to have the ability to sin. Adam and Eve did not have a sin nature yet they did sin. Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Praise the Lord! Norm |

"The Bible says that through one man, sin entered the world. I am not aware of a scripture that says it is transmitted through the blood. Please advise on this. Jesus was born of a woman, but he did not sin. So was he also formed in iniquity? Please advise on this. The Bible says that through one man, sin entered the world. I am not aware of a scripture that says it is transmitted through the blood. Jesus also, while in the image of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be exploited, but humbled himself, taking the form of a slave, and being made in the likeness of men. So was he also formed in iniquity? Please advise on this." You hit the nail on the head. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Sin entered into the world through Adam, not Eve. Jesus was not formed in iniquity, not only did Jesus not sin, there was no sin nature in him: 1 John 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. There was no sin in Jesus because his father was not a man, but the Holy Ghost: Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. This is how the blood of Jesus can be substituted for our blood to wash away our sins. Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. If Jesus's blood was not shed it would have had no power to take away our sins: Hebrews 9:15-17 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. "Either the author is allegorizing the 7 days of creation, or else he is displaying quite literally that the 6th and 7th days of creation were no more 24 hour periods than the first 4 days. " The latter, none of the days of creation were 24 hour periods. Also notice the seventh day does not have an evening and a morning, the other six do. We are not looking for a certain day any longer, even as suggested by the scriptures you refer to: Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. If you believe you will enter into rest. Praise the Lord! Norm |

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: Time, as described by our day of 24 hours relates to the sun and the revolution, or the spinnning of our earth on it's axis. These lights created, that we may know time, did not come until day four. Time, as days described in creation, relates to God, not our earth and sun. 2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 39 | Prove having sex makes one married | Matt 18:6 | TheFinalSQL | 126564
What of Mary and Joseph. Looks like sex consummates the marriage, but according to Jewish tradition you are considered legally married, or betrothed if sex has not taken place. Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 1:18 betrothed. Jewish betrothal was as binding as modern marriage. A divorce was necessary to terminate the betrothal (v. 19) and the betrothed couple were regarded legally as husband and wife (v. 19)—although physical union had not yet taken place. See note on Luke 2:5. with child of the Holy Spirit. See vv. 20, 23; Luke 1:26–35. John F. MacArthur, Jr., The MacArthur Study Bible, (Dallas: Word Publishing) 1997. 2:5 betrothed. See note on Matt. 1:18. Matthew 1:24 indicates that when the angel told Joseph about Mary’s pregnancy, he “took to him his wife”—i.e., he took her into his home. But they did not consummate their marriage until after the birth of Jesus (Matt. 1:25). Therefore, technically, they were still betrothed. John F. "While your words don't actually say it, your doctrine screams that sin is "okay," so long as you confess it later. That's a doctrine not conforming to godliness." AMEN!!! Not that you are singlingly out anyone, but rather bringing to light the false doctrine of sinning and confessing. Yes, you are supposed to confess your sins, but you are also to repent or forsake them. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; To truly repent takes more than just repeating some words or putting on a show: Hebrews 12:17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. Paul gives us the steps: 2 Corinthians 7:10-11 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter. This practice of sinning/confessing and your okay was started by the Nicolaitans. Read in Revelations of the churches of Ephesus and Pergamos, but one verse in particular: Revelation 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. From Easton's: Nicolaitanes The church at Ephesus (Re 2:6) is commended for hating the "deeds" of the Nicolaitanes, and the church of Pergamos is blamed for having them who hold their "doctrines" (Re 2:15). They were seemingly a class of professing Christians, who sought to introduce into the church a false freedom or licentiousness, thus abusing Paul's doctrine of grace (comp. 2Pe 2:15-16,19), and were probably identical with those who held the doctrine of Baalam (q.v.), Re 2:14.
