1 | How long did Adam and Eve live in Eden? | Gen 3:23 | Racan | 89410
Perhaps as little as two nights, three days. And certainly not much more than this.

4 | Cursed or not? | Gen 3:17 | Racan | 86694
It would appear that Adam and Eve were not cursed by God following their act of disobedience. Would you agree? And do you think this is significant?
5 | The priest of Eden? | Gen 3:21 | Racan | 86432
So the LORD God ministered as a priest in the garden of Eden and sacrificed an animal (or animals) skinned them and then clothed Adam and Eve with their hides?

Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the DAY that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. Job 38:4-7 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Genesis 1:1-5 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were THE FIRST DAY. God could not have called it the first day if there were any days before it. All creatures need two distinct states of being to be in place before they can be expressed: TIME and SPACE. SPACE allows FORM, even angels have bodies (though not material like ours) for proof see Rev 21:17 Hope this helps. |

8 | Don't be deceived | Gen 2:9 | Racan | 85878
Dear Scribe, I agree with your insights into Ezekiel 28, and regarding the fall of Satan believe we have evidence to conclude the following: (1) It did not occur until after the woman had been created. (2) Furthermore, we can conclude that it did not occur until after the 7th Day when God rested. The earliest possibility would be Day 8…. (3) It did, as you noted, occur within the garden of Eden, and the Scriptures on this point are quite specific. (4) The tree of knowledge was as instrumental in the fall of Satan as it was for our original ancestors. There’s a lot more that can be stated as well. Have you discovered when exactly the cherub known as "Lucifer" (since Jerome's Vulgate) was created? |

9 | Don't be deceived | Gen 2:9 | Racan | 85662
Dear EMD Can you provide any evidence from the Scriptures that the fall of Satan had already taken place on Day 6. There is a difference between POTENTIALITY and ACTUALITY. At this point in time Evil was a potential that would soon be realised, it was not yet an actuality. Proof: God cannot lie (Titus 1:2) and after He had caused the tree of knowledge to grow alongside the tree of life He looked at everything He had made "and, behold, it was very good." (Genesis 1:31) In 1 Corinthians 4:6 the Apostle Paul gives us a very valuable principle "that ye might learn ... not to think above that which is written." Be BLESSED |

10 | A question about God's creation plans | Gen 2:18 | Racan | 85548
Dear Chynna, Genesis 1:5 indicates that from God's perspective evening preceeds morning to complete one day in time. This incidently is completely opposite to our natural appreciation of time. Genesis 1:24-31 records the events that took place on the SIXTH DAY in the counting of time. Here God created all land based animals then he created Man, the male first then the female. Both were formed on the sixth day, so we're simply taking a matter of a few hours age difference. Genesis 2:18-23 focuses on the separation of the woman from the man. As you will remember from your Biology classes all the genetic information that defines the female is present in the male (i.e., the X chromosone). If you refocus your question and ask "What is the significance of God making Adam first?" you'd be on a better track. |

11 | The order of events | Gen 2:8 | Racan | 85547
It is an easy thing to overlook, but did you notice that the LORD God planted the garden in Eden AFTER He had formed Adam. [Not all Bible translations are as precise on this important little piece of chronology]. Do a word search on "Eden" and remember chronology is all about what came first, and what happened next.
12 | why god didn't allow man to pick mate? | Gen 2:7 | Racan | 85334
If Adam had been given a choice, could he have chosen? But Adam had no choice, he only had Eve. But if Adam had been given a choice, would he have chosen any other than Eve? Before his act of disobedience, I don't believe Adam ever complained! |

13 | How did Eve hear about the tree? | Gen 3:1 | Racan | 85295
You are right, the woman had not been created when the LORD commanded Adam not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. Yet it is clear that she knew the tree's identity from her conversation with the Serpent. The only answer to your question is that her husband Adam, concerned about her welfare, would have warned her of the tree's dangerous potential. Something to bear in mind: prior to the woman's disobedience in eating the fruit, her converstaion would not be deceitful, thus her answer to the Serpent's question displays both innocence and ignorance. |
