|1||John 8:24- What does this mean to you?||1 John 4:2||Pastor Glenn||157160|
|Hello Deep input,
I hope that you at least watched the show. Also keep in mind that confusion about which religion is really true is no more excusable than confusion concerning counterfeit money. Just as we are expected to know the key features of our money, we are also warned about false Christs. We are not warned of false Jehovah, mind you, but again, false Christs.
I do agree with you concerning unholiness in the church. Having the right religion is not the major factor. However, have the right Christ is the one most crucial factor for salvation.
Joh 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
What does this verse mean to you Deep input?
|2||Is Jesus Christ God? Is He your Lord?||1 John 4:2||Pastor Glenn||157103|
|Hello deep input,
“Verses 8-11, however, say not to call anybody rabbi(pastor), father, master. Is it ok to ignore this because we feel in our hearts that it is ok to call people pastor or father. “
You equate rabbi and pastor. But the bible or dictionary does not. Why did you throw that (pastor) into the scripture?
8 "But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers.
9 "Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.
10 "Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ.
11 "But the greatest among you shall be your servant.
12 "Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.
n 1: spiritual leader of a Jewish congregation; qualified to expound and apply Jewish law 2: a Hebrew title of respect for a Jewish scholar or teacher
1: A Christian minister or priest having spiritual charge over a congregation or other group.
2: A layperson having spiritual charge over a person or group.
3: A shepherd.
You do not need to call me “pastor”, “brother” will do just fine.
I have a question for you too. Is Jesus Christ God? Is He your Lord?
|3||filled Holy Spirit, or to walk in spirit||Rom 8:9||Pastor Glenn||153409|
|I like Ray's comments in this old thread. I have a new question:
Is it more important to be filled with the Holy Spirit, or to walk in our spirit nature, or both?
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Your brother in Christ,

By who's name are you saved, Jesus Christ or Jehovah?
|7||Agnostic? Indifferent? Undecided? Hesit-||1 Kin 18:21||Pastor Glenn||142488|
|1 Kings 18:21 Elijah came near to all the people and said, "How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people did not answer him a word.
Agnostic? Indifferent? Undecided? Hesitant? Are all of these bad?
Adam and Eve were made with free will. If Satan had not tempted Eve, would they have remained in the garden forever? Why did God allow Satan into the garden? Why did He put the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil into the garden? Should God let us remain indifferent towards Him?
|8||church attendance all but cease in UK?||Rom 1:21||Pastor Glenn||142439|
|"...The projected figures would indicate that in another 20-30 years church attendance will have all but ceased in England!"
"Secularism, pluralism and post-modernism in European society are met by the nominalism, traditionalism and isolationism of a church which has lost its fire. There are now increasingly anti-Christian attitudes in many governments of Europe and the church seems powerless to stand against them. ..."
To view this article go to:
Then navigate to "G12 Magazine", "Harvest for Europe", and "Cell Church in the European Situation".
Whether the Cell church can make a difference is not my question. My question is concerning the declining European church attendance. Is this the kind of situation that is spoken of in Romans?:
Romans 1:21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
|9||How do we know that we are truly saved?||1 John 3:24||Pastor Glenn||141233|
|How do we know that we are truly saved?
Are there any scriptures that tell us if we are saved? If so, please tell me what they are.
Just because I am a pastor does not mean that I really know the right answers. So do not see this as a test that I will grade.
Honestly, I do not feel that these questions are discussed enough, so I will not respond except to clarify or ask followup questions.
|10||salvation for demons?||Lev 18:25||Pastor Glenn||140565|
"Peter, in 1 Peter 3:18-20, 4:6, is speaking on the fulfillment of Jesus' Salvation offered to all the creatures of God; these spirits are those who died not truly cognizant of God's Promise (Salvation in Christ Jesus)."
Are you saying that Jesus offered salvation to the demons, as well as, to men?
"...Jesus' Salvation offered to all the creatures of God..."
Your brother in Christ,
|11||The Lord told me to tell you..." ?||1 Thess 5:20||Pastor Glenn||140431|
|I just noticed that there are no notes on this verse:
1 Thessalonians 5
20 do not despise prophetic utterances. (NASB)
20 prophesyings despise not; (YLT)
I have heard some say that it is bad to offer a "word of knowledge" or "prophetic word" to others concerning their life. As an example, someone may come to you and say "The Lord told me to tell you..." so and so. Is this wrong for them to do? If we refuse to listen, are we disobeying this scripture?
|12||underlying question in these "..tongues"||1 Cor 13:8||Pastor Glenn||140362|
|Please excuse me for butting in...
I may be wrong, but it seems that the underlying question in these "speaking in tongues" discussions is "Does speaking in tongues show salvation"?
I just want to point out that none of the "gifts" of the Spirit show salvation. Any lier can fake "tongues". However, the "fruit" of the spirit does show salvation. Remember that the number 1 fruit is Love. It is very difficult to "fake" love as discribed in the Love chapter (1 Cor 13). Any comments?
If I am wrong in my assumption of an "underlying question", then please forgive me.
Merry Christmas to all,
|13||Did Shem exit the Ark at 98, outlv Abrm?||Gen 11:10||Pastor Glenn||140352|
|Normally we just skip right past boring geneologies unless we need a sleep aid. But I find certain implications very interesting.
I checked the lifetimes. Adam lived until Enoch was 308. I wanted to point out that Noah lived until Abraham was 60 and Shem (Abraham's ancestor) outlived Abraham to see Jacob's 50th birthday (I think I added right). The point is that living witnesses were always present to present "living epistles".
Does anyone find this as interesting as I do?

|15||explain Mat 22:44 using "oneness" doctrn||Bible general Archive 2||Pastor Glenn||140226|
"Haven't you read where it says there is One Lord. "
Yes, I agree. The Lord is one:
and Jesus answered him -- "The first of all the commands [is], Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one;" (Young's Literal Translation)
We never deny that the Lord is one.
"What are you saying, that there are two. "
No, I am saying that the scriptures show one God reveiled in three persons (the trinity). My question to you is how do you explain these scriptures using "oneness" doctrine?
"They knew what Jesus was saying, and that is, that he is that, "ONE LORD"."
No, in this scripture He says "... the LORD said unto my Lord..." (Mat 22:44). We have one person talking to another person. Again, all that I am asking is how do you explain these scriptures using "oneness" doctrine?
|16||able destroy both soul and body in hell?||Bible general Archive 2||Pastor Glenn||139315|
Please explain this verse:
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (NKJV)
28 And be not afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but fear rather Him who is able both soul and body to destroy in gehenna.(Young's Literal Translation)
I think that most Christians think of hell (or hades) together with the "Lake of Fire" (gehenna) as a place of torment for the immortal soul. If there is no immortal soul, then Jesus' statement here seems meaningless, doesn't it? I do not know if this is a natural or physical "fire" that torments the soul, but the word "fire" is used to describe the source of the torment.
I noted in your profile that you do not want to argue. I do not wish to offend you by this question.
|17||The Devil cannot be punished, can he?||Bible general Archive 2||Pastor Glenn||139219|
If there is no hell, then the Devil cannot be punished, can he?
Scripture says that hell is prepared for the Devil and his angels (Demons):
"Then He will also say to those on the left hand, "Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Those that follow the Devil will join him in his place that was prepared for his punishment.
"...does it seem reasonable that he created a fiery hell for those who do not serve him? The Bible says, “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) Would a loving God really torment people forever? Would you do so? Knowing of God’s love should move us to turn to his Word to find out just what hell is..."
But the scripture says:
16Thus says the LORD of hosts:
"Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you.
They make you worthless;
They speak a vision of their own heart,
Not from the mouth of the LORD.
17They continually say to those who despise Me,
"The LORD has said, "You shall have peace"';
And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say,
"No evil shall come upon you."'
While most of us agree that the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the best, but it is incomplete without also proclaiming the consequences (hell fire).
|18||Aren't "Jahovah's" Witnesses anti-Christ||Bible general Archive 2||Pastor Glenn||139215|
|Please see my question at ID# 92778.
Aren't "Jahovah's" Witnesses anti-Christ or else they would be called "Jesus Christ" Witnesses?
Also, since they say that a God of "Love" will not bring everlasting punishment that makes them false prophets:
15Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the prophets who prophesy in My name, whom I did not send, and who say, "Sword and famine shall not be in this land'--"By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed!
The focus of the Watchtower and Tract Society on the name "Jehovah" is totally misplaced emphasis. The scriptures already have the emphasis on the name of the Son!
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Truthfinder, I have pointed out that the great conspiracy of Satan is really the "spirit of anti-Christ", not "anti-Jehovah". But, you have not responded to this point. Do you agree that scripture emphasizes a conspiracy against the Son (Anti-Christ)?
1 John 4
2By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
How does the NWT render the above scripture?
Do you agree that the doctrine of the trinity "does not" teach that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are "one person"? However, they are "one God", but also three eternally distinct persons. Is this your understanding of what we believe? I am not asking if you agree with us, only if you know and understand what we believe.
The bible is clear that there is no other name given among men by which we must be saved.
18"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Do you believe that you can be saved by the name Jehovah or by the name of Jesus Christ?
|19||The scriptures and U.S. Mid East Policy||Rev 12:12||Pastor Glenn||137828|
I was recently led to a web-site that complains that Christian Zionists are helping to ruin the U.S. foreign policy in the middle east. They are saying that Zionists do not want peace.
I think that the real danger is not Israel or Christian Zionism. I think that it is a lie to say that Zionists do not want peace. I heard that Arafat refused a Palestinian State deal years ago. The Islamic movement clearly wants to destroy Israel.
Remember too, that before Israel even became a nation during WW II, the Nazis searched them out and destroyed 6 million Jews. This makes the scriptures perfectly clear. Satan hates Jews and Christians. Look at what is happening around the world and compare to Rev chapter 12:
Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Rev 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
Rev 12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Notice that Satan hates both the "woman" (Israel), as well as, her seed (Christians).
Please check out a video called "Former Muslims Testify About Islam" by going to the following link:
This is a real eye opener. Islam is a Satanic religion that hates Jews and Christians just as Nazism wanted to destroy Jews and Christians before. Even now Christian are being killed in Sudan, Africa! This is the spirit of Anti-Christ:
1John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
I know that some Christians feel that it is wrong to look at the world with a newspaper in one hand and a bible in the other.
Am I wrong???
|20||Bible ... be “a doubting Thomas."?||1 Cor 13:8||Pastor Glenn||132991|
Why do you apply this scripture to miracles through a third party? You quoted:
“…"test the spirits."…”
1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1Jo 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
1Jo 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1Jo 4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
1Jo 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
In light of Jesus’ teaching concerning miracles performed in His name:
Mar 9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
Mar 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
Mar 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
Is there any difference in how to interpret Christ’s words today?
“… miracles manifested by human beings in today's world, again IMO, the Bible clearly teaches we should inspect and be "a doubting Thomas."“
In your “opinion“, where does the bible clearly teach to be “a doubting Thomas."?
“As I've already mentioned, childbirth, healing of a cancer patient and all other events which simply CANNOT be explained by natural forces indeed are most likely examples of miracles. BUT they are directly manifested from and by God directly to the recipient with no other third human person intervening.”
Does this mean that we should not apply this scripture these days?
Jam 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
Jam 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he hath committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Jam 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Please show at least one example where the bible teaches us to doubt.
