181 | How can anyone be saved? | 1 Cor 2:14 | Cyclist | 60652
Dear Brother John, I will make a joyful noise to the Lord my God! In my heart I am leaping and dancing with joy the day long becasue I know that my God and Savior is with me, and guides my every step! No matter where I am or what I am doing I know that I can talk with my Savior! Blessed be the Lord forever! John, you will remember that you and I exchanged postings on Romans chapter 9. In fact, one of my replies was this: (I've reached a new level of convidence and boldness in the Holy Spirit that I had not known before through this discussion. Not confidence in myself, God forbid! for there is no confidence in the flesh, but the confidence that God is in control and has predestinated everything! There is apsolutely nothing that He does not know or see or hear, and, that He has not preordained. Lord please forgive me of any former doubts, I do repent!) Since our discussion in March, which helped my to grow, I do pray a differently. I do not plead with God for these babies to be saved because I've been conducting searches in the forum on the subject of "infant salvation" and "salvation of children". I am convinced through the scriptures posted that these babies and children that God has put under my care, they are His, are saved if they should perish for some reason before the age of accountability. Yes, my prayers are different. They are more focused on asking God to create in me a pure heart after His nature and spirit that I may give spiritual guidance to those He has put in my life to care for. Incidently, I have in me a burden for all babies and children. I pray for them and weep sometimes because of their sufferings and abuse. I love children so much. In regards to this doctrine, what about: Heb 2:9 But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. In this case, according to the doctrine, Does EVERYONE mean everyone as we define it, or, Is there a different meaning from the original writings? I know sometimes that one Hebrew word can have different meanings. Blessings Brother John! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

John, Thanks! You always take time to respond. What do you think? Do you think that the paragraph that is quoted in your post is revelation from, or inspired by, God our Father? I'm sorry but I haven't done much reading other than the Word so I do not know the author nor the author's backround, that's why I am asking. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear Brother John, Praise be to God our Father, who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there is therein, all things seen and unseen, created not by hands, but by God! Yes, praise be to our heavenly Father! As I told you my brother, I have been following this thread the best that I can. I must say that it is getting long! Some scripture came to mind as I consider the subject and the discussion. Keep in mind that I am not as mature in the faith and in the knowledge of the Word as others on this forum, whom I consider to be my elders in Christ, you included, so, I found it necessary to go directly to God's Word. Now taking into consideration that I consider these to be elders, I found myself tempted to side with this one or that one. Here are the scriptures that have helped me: 1 Cor 1:9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Cor 1:10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Cor 1:11 For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloe's people, that there are quarrels among you. 1 Cor 1:12 Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ."1 Cor 1:13 Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 1 Cor 4:20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power. John 15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. John 15:11 "These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. John 15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:14 "You are My friends if you do what I command you. I love each one in Christ that are regulars, my elders, on this forum and have really grown by reading postings by all of you. Thank you! Your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His prasie shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear brother John, It was a cool crisp morning in east central IL this morning. It took about 5 miles before my body warmed up when riding my bicycle. The sun rise was beautiful! How beautiful are the creations of God! Praise God for the beautiful things He has created! Praise Him for giving His only begotten Son for us, who did not deserve it, but, He loved us! Dear Brother, I'm still following this thread somewhat, I haven't been able to keep up with all of the postings, and, my computer "groans" when I click on one of them. I know that this is a forum, of the which I am very thankful for, but, man, there is a little tension in some of the postings. I enjoy being involved with, and seeing some healthy discussion, and even disagreement, but, it hurts to see the children of God "bear teeth". I'm trying to follow this thread because of you, because of our discussion back in March on Romans 9. I really had a "growth spurt" then. We know from the Word that GOD is LOVE! Here is some more scripture. I'm not posting as one in authority be any means. You know that I am one of the least in knowledge as a forum member. I'm simply posting this because you are in my prayers, and, you really helped me to grow. 1 Cor 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 1 Cor 13:3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 1 Cor 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 1 Cor 13:5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 1 Cor 13:6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 1 Cor 13:7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Cor 13:8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. God bless you brother! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Hank, Praise be to the Lord our God for the wisdom He gives us! There is very much wisdom in your post! You must seek God for wisdom, we know that He gives wisdom to those that ask Him for it. 1 Cor 4:20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power. Mommapbs, I will sing praise to the Lord my God in my heart the day long! I will sing of his mercy his and love and his grace! I will sing to him with a joyful heart! I will sing praises to the Lord! Yes, I want to chime in. In Radioman's post he reffers to 1 Cor 6:19. In my way of thinking (That's scary, isn't it?), that scripture answers the question on suisude. It tells me that I am not my own, so, God is the one who appoints the time that I should leave this body and be clothed with the other one that he has prepared for me. This verse from Hebrews came to mind also: Heb 9:27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, As far as destroying the temple of the Holy Spirit is concerned, I would agree with you. Here are a few verses from 1 Cor 12. In this chapter Paul is speaking of spiritual gifts. 1 Cor 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. 1 Cor 12:12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. 1 Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 1 Cor 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many. 1 Cor 12:15 If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. Blessing to you T! Always your brother in prayer and praise, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

T, We are doing fine. Thank you for asking. Is all well with you? After reading your post, which was very good, these scriptures came to mind. I was quilty of the same thing you speak of in time past, holding those less informed to a standard that I, not the Lord, set. I was corrected by these scriptures, especially Gal 6:3; that one HURT! Rom 14:1 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions Rom 15:1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Gal 6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Gal 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. Gal 6:3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Gal 6:4 But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. Always your brother in Chist our Lord, David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

189 | Of course I'm bitter! You would be too. | 1 Cor 7:5 | Cyclist | 66652
mpa, All praise and glory and honor be to God our Father who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there is therein, things not made with hands! And to Jesus Christ God's only begotten Son who thought not of Himself but gave His life for our sins, who's name is named above every name in heaven and earth! Welcome to the forum! This is a wonderful place to study God's word! There are many here on this forum that are regulars that are very knowledgable of the word of God, very loving, and are concerned for the needs of all brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Unfortunately, it is difficult, even for the elders of this forum, to offer or provide counselling. Noting that your are obvioulsy angry and bitter, I'm sure that any advise given to you from us would not be accepted. We can only provide what is written in God's word, our interpretaion of it, sometimes commentary from noted authors, prayer for your situation, and a love for you as a brother in Christ. Please seek a Christian counselor or Pastor to help you. I shall pray for you. In the love of Christ Jesus our Lord, your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

If the answer to you in my previous post was in any way offensive, please forgive me. I will not ever rebuke or speak out against God's anointed, or, any of my elders in Christ. Welcome to this forum! Since you are a pastor and have knowledge of the word of the Lord our God, you could probably help us study and learn. Please jump in on some of the threads! Help us who are "juveniles" in the word learn more. Bless you Pastor! In Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

prayon, With my hands lifted up and my mouth filled with praise, with a heart of thanksgiving, I will bless the LORD! Praise the LORD! Just a note to say that I think your post is GREAT! The woman that led me to Jesus, my spiritual mother, and, I am a male, was silent in the church, ACCEPT, when it came to teachings in Sunday school class that swayed from the Word of GOD, and, when she was asked to stand in for our pastor to preach. What a wonderful woman God made. I thank Him for her. She would not allow me to be misled by man's wisdom, or, by teachings that swayed from God's Word. She spoke up! Dear, dear Brother in Christ, On the mountain top, I will praise Him! in the valley, I will praise Him! If I am taken down to the ocsean floor or the center of the earth, He will hear my praise! Blessed be the Lord our God! I must apologize if I misunderstood and did not address your original question. Obviously I do not yet understand theology and the meaning of exegesis and disputing(s) over interpretation of the Word of the Lord our God. In fact, there are questions that are asked on the forum and notes posted that I probably should not have responded to, and have at times refrained myself from responding to. So please, by all means my brother, re-post your question and may the blame for a double post be laid to my charge. Not that I am nor would I be offended, I am just sorry that I did not understand your question. Searcher submitted an answer also. Did you read it? Maybe that better addressed your question. Bless you brother, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

196 | Is reverence feasible? Always? | Eph 5:33 | Cyclist | 66114
Rabbi Mark, With my hands lifted up! With my mouth filled with praise! With a heart of thanksgiving! I will bless the Lord my God! Welcome to the forum! This is a great place to study the word of the Lord our God! I haven't been very active on the forum lately because I have been busy at my job. I do check in from time to time and I noticed your post. I read some of this thread and was a little disturbed by what was written to a very dear sister, Mommapbs, and to a very dear brother, Emmaus. Might I suggest that you do some research on these two members of the forum. It is simple. Just "click" on their names on this thread and you can read all of their postings. There is one particular thing that you wrote about in response to Mommapbs that I would like to respond to. You wrote "These two quotes are the perfect example of why a woman should learn in silence and not be suffered to teach. You have proven in your own words that women easily fall prey for spiritual counterfeits." How would this portion of scripture relate to that? or Does it? Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. In Christ our Lord, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Rabbi Mark, I will praise the Lord my God because He is worthy of all praise! I will praise the Lord my God because He is loving and kind and merciful! I will praise the Lord my God who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that therin is because He has provided salvation for me through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ! Praise the name of the Lord! Thank you for taking time to respond to my post. I still have not had nor taken the time to read every post on this. As I wrote before, my job is taking 10 hours of my day and, in addition to that, I am providing care for a family member in the evenings. If I had it my way I would be on the forum at least 8 hours per day. I am some what of a juvenile to this forum and in the word of the Lord my God compared to others members, who I consider to be my elders in Christ. That being said, I will exit this thread because my dear elder Hank has labeled it as divisive and I trust his wisdom in the Lord. I want no part of a divisive thread other than to address those that attack others. As for Mommapbs, I wrote to you before that she is a dear sister in the Lord. I am thankful for her. Bless you Mommapbs! In Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Joe, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever! I will sing a song of praise in my heart and in my mind to Lord my God the day long! I will sing of His mercy! I will sing of His grace! I will of His loving kindness! Praise be to the Lord our God! Until now I have been able to keep myself from posting on this subjuct because I have seen it come up at least six times in my first year as an active member. Just wanted to add a few scriptures and a little opinion. This is not directed at you or anyone else, just intended to add to the discussion. Rom 11:16 If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too. Rom 11:17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, Rom 11:18 do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. Rom 11:19 You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in." Rom 11:20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear; Rom 11:21 for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. Rom 11:22 Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God's kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. Rom 11:23 And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. Rom 11:24 For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree? This scripture tells me that we can be cut off, but, as the formerly children of promise when we accepted Christ, He is able to graft us back in again. 2 Chr 7:14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Here is one passage I really like because when we do fail, many, including satan (I refuse to capitalize the first letter of his name, sorry Ray), develope a "hog" nature (If a one hog has a blemish or an illness all the others nip at it and bite at it to torment it to death.), there are those, I know from experience that backbite the one who failed instead of loving them back into the family of God. Ps 3:1 O LORD, how my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me. Ps 3:2 Many are saying of my soul, "There is no deliverance for him in God." Selah. Ps 3:3 But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head. Ps 3:4 I was crying to the LORD with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah. Sorry Joe, I believe I got a little carried away and that is why I have refrain from posting on this until now. Always your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord, Cyclist (David) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
