I'm not sure if I got the question but here it goes... In Luke 5, Peter is confronted by Jesus with a dilemma. Peter tired from a day of fishing, is told something kinda offensive to him. A non fisherman is telling him how to fish. Peter thought to himself. Who is he to tell me how to fish - I'm the fisherman and he's the guy that is good at public speaking and putting on a good show. Jesus wanted to show Peter that what he thought he knew was not enough. There was a lot more to life that he really knew. Same application to us. When we think we know all that there is to know that is when we need to be shown by God that there is much more and that God has much to show us still. Jesus produced more fish than Peter could handle. It had just become Peter's biggest day of fishing and the funny thing is that Peter just left all of that fish behind to follow Jesus. Wow. Can you drop everything especially on your biggest day to follow the author of life? Peter did. He saw that he didn't know all that he though he knew. |

I understand the message of the passages. What I am looking is someone to complete the story line. Three gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke) the story takes place as Jesus is walking by and happens upon the soon to be disciples. However, John states that Andrew first met Jesus, then Andrew went and found his brother, and introduced Simon Peter to Jesus. | ||||||

Hi Don and welcome to the forum, You can find the story line or just exactly why the book of John was written in the following verses. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: [31] But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
