Hank I thankyou for your response.I didn't feel attacked in any way, how ever I do have some scripture to back up in why i believe in what i believe. We can choose to walk out of the will of God. When we put our faith in what Christ has done on the cross, we are forgiven of past sins, yes God will keep us as long as we want to be kept but He did not force salvation on us in the first place and He will not force us to continue to follow Jesus. We have choices and we can choose life or death. If we continue to sin we can expect fearful judgment fromGod HEB10:26-27.we do not earn salvation through works lest any man should boast,Phil 2:12 work out your own salvation in fear and trembling. Not that God's word is contrudicting for it is truth all truth but we have to keep ourselves from loosing our way getting cought up in the world, a friend with the world is an enemy of God. John15:6 we must remain in Him or we are like fire wood, again our choice to stay close to Him or not. Romans2:7-8 it is with persistence do we do good, therfore there must be a resistence to face that is working it out.Gal6:8-9 we deny our sinful nature to please Him or we reap destruction. in Romans 11:17-24 we see that God did not spare His chosen people He will not spare us. He will show us kindness provided that we continue in Him.There are some more verses to support in what I believe, besides i would rather live with the belief that there is a chance to loose my salvation it keeps me in the fear of the Lord and as well as vigelint. Do you remember Samson was close to God, but the world, or should i say Delilah stole him away and Samson didn't even realize that God had left him.It has been a real plesure Hank to talk to you. God Bless

teresaa - We seem to be going around in circles on this. Is salvation by faith only, or do we contribute to it by works? ..... A quote from your post: "I would rather live with the belief that there is a chance to lose my salvation. It keeps me in fear of the the Lord." ...... What this says, of course, is that though you say that works do not save, you believe that works contribute to salvation by keeping you saved. That leads inexorably to the conclusion that salvation is a joint effort between you and God. Scripture does not teach this, teresaa. Please go to the following web site and read the article: http://www.gotquestions.org/contribute-salvation.html .... If we do not earn salvation through works, as you have posted and as Scripture clearly teaches, tell me how it can be that we can "lose" our salvation by works. So why would you rather live with the belief that there is a chance to lose your salvation? Because it keeps you in the fear of the Lord, you say. Teresaa, believe what Scripture teaches and set aside what you would "rather believe." I know of no better way to live in reverental awe (fear) of the Lord than to take Him at His word, do you? --Hank
