Justme Hi how are you? I think the reason for the rather long discussions on sexual related matters is, because in our society, sex has been promoted to forefront of much of our thought process. We see sex in nearly everything. Nearly every ad sex is used to sell anything from breakfast cereal to bed we sleep in. If you look at a magazine, watch TV, read a book, listen to the radio or even get into a group discussion sooner or later the subject of sex will be brought up in one fashion or another. Sex has become so focal in our lives that it is hard to avoid, but there is also a growing awareness of the huge amount of misinformation out there on the subject. I think we are seeing people react to this heightened interest in sex and becoming aware that there is a right and wrong and they are seeking the truth. I’m sure there are many that are looking for justification for their lusts. Just as I’m equally sure there are some that experience an amount of satisfaction just discussing the subject. However if we give everyone the benefit of the doubt, we must assume they are looking for Godly counsel in the matter of sex. Now the problem about those keyboard psychologists, they are everywhere and they seem to show up on forums like this. All we can do is offer Godly council and hope those reading the thread will be able to pick the treasure from the junk. We have many on this forum that are well thought of but are a bubble off in their theology, have the wrong motivates, are pushing an agenda, are members of cults and some that are out as wolves in lamb’s clothing seeking to devour. We even have one that uses the forum for personal gain. All we, that are in Christ, can do is offer the truth and hope the light of our word reflects the light of the truth of Jesus Christ. And that truth enters into the hearts and minds of the readers and they walk away with the truth instead of the lie. EdB |

Edb: Good to hear from you. I am reninded of Romans 14:22. When we approve of anything we risk our testimony. I personally would rather remain silent than even enter into such a subject. I am of the opinion that there are boundaries between men and women that need respect, and are improper and impolite to dialogue with mixed sexes. The sacredness of each persons sexuality is no longer seen as a subject that is off limits to the general public at large. There times that certian subjects should best addressed and answered by someone of the same sex. I personally think men should counsel with men, and women with women. Sexual subjects would be better answered by persons with Godly wisdom, and of the same sex. I know this may seem far out, but it is just an old man's idea. I do not think my theology or or treatment of women is anything but respectfull, and liberating. I am just stating what I personally an convicted is the Biblical perspective of Scripture, I believe is best, for me. Perhaps some might consider my views to unrealistic. I believe in a high respect for women and men and appreciation for the differences that we bring as co-partners in Christ and His body. Blessings. justme |

Justme I basically agree there are times when the subject is best discussed one on one with both participants being the same gender. However, while I can't recall the specific thread your referring to, I think most discussions here have been on a more general nature. Asking if this or that was prohibited within scripture. I sometimes think many abhorrent sexual acts get condoned, promoted and often accepted because many are not even aware of what the act consist of. Homosexuality is one. Our society has made an art of wordsmithing things into acceptable terms. Most view this as two loving people of the same sex living together never thinking past the ramifications or what may be taking place. While some may have an idea or think they know what transpires only a very few really know what really aberrant and sick acts are common within the life style. Perhaps it is time for the Christian community to take the gloves off and instead of refusing to even mention aberrant sexual acts come out and declare them for what they are, abominations to even the most base sense of normalcy. I fully agree a public forum is not probably the best place to go into an great detail but if we can alert people to the fact that what is being said is not always the whole picture. I think we should and must be careful of overly offending people’s sensibilities but we must bring them to an awareness that what is being portrayed is not what is actually be committed. I say this as one that sat hearing the words spoken for years but never really realizing what was going on or how destructive some practices were. Why because everyone was afraid that even the very mention may offend someone. Our kids are faced with it everyday and it is time to educate the people to what is going on. I was just made aware of the alarming high increase of oral STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) cases effecting 8-9 year old girls. Some locations are fighting 1 in 4 outbreaks because no one is talking about it much less to their children. And the word on the street is oral sex is not really sex and carries no responsibility problems like pregnancy. I’m sorry but this information has to get out however we can get it out. EdB |

Edb: I agree with you have said. I think Christians especially mom's and dad's need to be street wise and smart in these areas. Far beyond what most people think, sexual activity takes place, as you say in eight year olds and perhaps younger. But they are being taught by someone, or some film at home or school. I do not believe that many eight year olds are naturally interested in sex. As for the homosexual culture we put up with, very few have the truth about their sexual activities. Many E.R's have to deal with the bazar medical issues that are unspeakable, and beyond most peoples imagination. I was an EMT for a while and worked in training at an E. R. so I know of where I speak. You are correct the information of God's best for mankind is in the Word. All to often we see Christians who sin just once, and pay a lifetime for their mistakes. Perhaps there is time to help people at the tender ages to prevent such a miserable life. Blessings. justme |
