Which one are we not going to keep? Overall I agree with Got it!!! He writes: "I figure that if He came to fulfill it, then we should too." I agree. But then he goes on to say, "Not by observing the letter of the law..." Not by observing the letter of the law? Nine of the Ten Commandments are repeated in the New Testament. Just which one of those nine were we planning on NOT keeping the letter of? |

Hey brother ... Did you read what I wrote on this topic on the original thread? We are not under the law, but under grace, walking not in the flesh, but in the spirit. We no longer need, "Do not murder," because we now have the new, and significantly greater, commandment, "Love each other as I have loved you," which is all encompassing. I do not need to know not to murder. I will love my neighbor as myself, and thus do no murder to him. The original point that was discovered and brought up was not "get rid of the law," but "fulfill it through love." Read my previous thought on the other thread and see what you think. Theo-Minor |
