My son was told by a Pastor last night that you have to be baptised to go to heaven. I don't believe you have to be baptised to get into heaven. I believe babtism is a outwoard show of the inward work. And yes you would want to be. But, I don't believe you have to be. Is there any scriptures I could give my son. He was given John 3.

Hello, ask your son to read Romans 6:1-14. I hope that this helps. I was recently baptized on November 13, 2002. And it was a difficult decision to make. I believe that it is an outward show of inward work. Read that scripture and let me know how it makes you feel. I hope this helps you out.

You speak of outward show of inward work baptism is an act of obedience an obligation that all christians make to God this obligation is what Paul is reminding the Christians of in Rom.chp 6. Saving faith is a faith that requires obeying God without the action or obedience there is no faith. A man said to a crowd I'm going to cross a tight rope across Niagra Falls pushing a willbarrow does anyone believe I can do this? The crowd with enthusiasm yelled YES. He replied ok one of you believers come get in the willbarrow. There were no voluteers. All believed in thier minds but none believed in thier hearts enough to act. |
