Dearest sister, Good hearing from you. This is one of the first passages of scripture I studied after I was saved. Go back to verse three of this passage and read through to verse 12. This will give you some insite to what "these" references to. Peter is telling us to cultivate our relationship with God. Remember how Paul tells us in Philippians 2:12 to work out our salvation (with trembling and fear). Here in 2 Peter 1:3-12 is telling us how. Greetings lionheart - thank you for the warm greeting. I understand what you are saying, yet it appears to me that the emphasis, imo is what God works in us to accomplish His purpose - to conform us to the image of His Son, Jesus. We particpate in cooperating with Him, but apart from God at work in us, we can do nothing to bring these attributes about. (John 15:5) Blessings, mommapbs |
