AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Peter 1:4 For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature. |
Subject: What does the word "these" reference? |
Bible Note: Hi Mark: Here is how I "see it" - God has given us everything - everything imo is HIMSELF. For He is ALL we need for life and godliness - His grace is sufficient. When I consider that He promises, I realize that it is my responsibility to trust, to believe that HE HAS already given me everything I need . . .even if I don't see it all right now. That's a good starting point for us when we consider one another as co-heirs with Christ - some of us are still ignorant of what we have been given. My 2 cents. Blessings, mommapbs |
