1 | Do you accept defeat too? | Heb 10:14 | Gal5:16 | 108093 | ||
2 Samuel 22: Thank you for your login id. I read (or understood) that chapter for the first time. Do you accept defeat too? The passage that is your creed paints an entirely different picture. "For I have kept the ways of the Lord. I have not done evil by turning from his decrees. I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin.", and later "It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect" Keep in mind that 2 Samuel 22 is after 2 Samuel 12. David repented, and trusted God to produce righteousness in him. |

Hi Gal5:16, Thanks for bringing up the topic again. May I ask what version of the Bible you are quoting from? I would like you to compare your "It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect" with the NASB for 2 Samuel 22:33. 2 Samuel 22:33, "God is my strong fortress; And (He) sets the blameless in His way." An alternate reading would be "God is my fortress; And He sets free the complete ones in His way." When one compares this passage with the Hebrew 10 passage we learn that we can know a new and living (Way). 2 Samuel 22:31, "As for God, (His) way is blameless [complete]; The word of the Lord is tested; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a *Rock/, besides our God?" From the heart, Ray |
