Hi, I am brand new to this post, infact to posting in general. Maybe I am out of line, but making a parody of God's Word? I don't understand your concept or your belief, is this not the inerrant word of God? Just in case I am wrong, here is the definition of parody: A literary or artistic work that imitates the characteristic style of an author or a work for comic effect or ridicule. The genre of literature comprising such works. Something so bad as to be equivalent to intentional mockery; a travesty. And here are just a few scriptures for the eternally secure: 2Peter 2:15-22;Hebrews 6:4-6(fallaway?); Hebrews 3:6-14(departing, hold fast until the end?). I have many more about holding the faith until the end.Salvation is not a parody, it is serious. allenp109@myway.com |

allenp109 - Actually, the post to which you refer that was labeled a parody by its author is not really meant to be a parody I believe. What the author is using is not parody but irony since the thing meant is opposite to the thing said. Known as dramatic irony, it is a literary device used for effect. In no way do I view his post as being a mockery of Scripture. --Hank | ||||||
