1 | Show me the money | Phil 4:19 | BARBAQUED | 171949
Peace be with you, and thank you for your reply. Your answer implies one must be poor to be born again. Does God want us to be poor? Or does God want us to look to him as the source of all that makes us prosper. Does God want to make us wealthy spiritually and materially? 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. “When john said we should prosper and be in health, he added the phrase, “Even as thy soul prospereth”. Man is a spirit; he has a soul consisting of the mind, the will and the emotions; and he lives in a body. Thus, there is spiritual prosperity; there is mental prosperity; and there is physical prosperity.” The law of Prosperity by Kenneth Copeland |

2 | Show me the money | Phil 4:19 | Searcher56 | 171981
Scripture ... Gen 18:18, 24:1; Job 1:20-22; Psa 112:9 (2 Cor 9:9); Pro 28:20; Matt 19:21; Mark 10:21; Luke 12:33, 18:22; 2 Cor 12:1-10; Phi 4:11-13; 1 Tim 6:3-10; Jam 2:5; Heb 13:5-6; Rev 2:9, 3:17 ... God’s day to you, BARBAQUED, Do you understand the content of 3 John 1:2? "Wealth and Health" is not promised, as some contend ... look at Job and his attitude when he lost it all (Job 1:20-22). What made Paul content (2 Cor 12:1-10, Phi 4:11-13)? Then, he read 1 Timothy 6:3-10. I start in verse 3, as a warning to the liars. Hebrews 13:5-6 also has a point to remember ... BE CONTENT with what you have. Compare the churches of Smyrna (Rev 2:9) with Laodecia (Rev 3:17) ... who was rich? James 2:5 says, "Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?" Read the following in Matthew 19:21 "Jesus answered, 'If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.' (xref Mark 10:21; Luke 12:33, 18:22) Proverbs 28:20 says "A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished." Was our Lord ever rich as an adult? In closing ... Psalm 112:9 says, "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be lifted high in honor" (xref 2 Cor 9:9). Read the whole Psalm and 2 Corintians 9:6-15. So what are you going to do with what you have? Read what two more qualified people wrote: John F. 3 | Goodness | Phil 4:19 | BARBAQUED | 172101
Mark 10:21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, "One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." Wouldnt this be a referance of trying to measure ones goodness compared to that of Christ?
4 | Goodness | Phil 4:19 | Searcher56 | 172104
Scripture context ... Mark 10:17-31 ........... BARBAQUED, God's day to you. It is not about goodness, tho the man tried. It is about making God number one ... selling all he had, because it was a hinderance ... it was his god. I would never compare my goodness with Him. Searcher |
