1 | A fresh mental and spiritual attitude? | Eph 4:23 | Hank | 150036
Ray, quite frankly if John 3:34 is the closest you can come to YOUR definition of 'holy spirit,' you haven't come within a mile of it, my friend. Why should you, who of all people are so fussy about capitalizing pronouns, deliberately cast "Spirit" in this verse in lower case, causing the RSV (Ray's Standard Version) to read 'spirit' instead of 'Spirit'? Ray, I checked four of the most respected Bible versions in modern English -- the KJV, NKJV, NASB, and ESV -- and not one of them agrees with your lower-case rendering of 'spirit' in this verse. Not one. When such an impressive array of scholars as are represented by these excellent versions don't agree with your theory, don't you think it's high time to reconsider your theory? .... Ray, you have not been able to show a single verse of Scripture in which the words 'holy spirit' appear side by side in any legitimate translation unless they are rendered "Holy Spirit." ..... I submit that the advancement of such questionable theories as this for which you have been unable to provide solid scriptural grounds are both misleading and confusing to readers of this Forum, and they constitute actions which are contrary to the guideliness set down for posting to this Forum and should not persist. Sorry, Ray, to be so blunt, but it seems to me that former milder hints at the unsuitably of your continuing to ride this horse to death went unnoticed. --Hank
2 | A fresh mental and spiritual attitude? | Eph 4:23 | kalos | 150055
Hank: Not only has the heretical teaching of lower case holy spirit not been proven on this forum, it hasn't even been defined. Even if I were inclined to accept it, I would find it impossible to accept an idea that is neither defined nor proved. And, for the record, there is NO PROOF for the lower case holy spirit, whatever that means. Grace to you, Kalos |

Kalos: I appreciate -- and believe the Forum at large appreciates -- your timely note and comment. Moreover, let what we have noted here serve as a reminder to all and a warning to some that promoting any kinds of heresies is not permitted on Study Bible Forum, and that clearly unorthdox theological hobby horses are to be kept locked in the barn and not ridden on the pages of this Forum. --Hank
