1 | Filled with Holy Spirit? | Eph 4:23 | Ray | 150081
Hi Tim, Because all we need is a (s)Seed within us. John 3:34, "For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the (s)Spirit without measure." 1) If our interpretation is that God gives the Spirit without measure, then each one of us is claiming to be bigger than God; because God is not measured out then one contains all of God. 2) If our interpretation is that God gives out *spirit, words of truth and power, we can be full of these words with many more yet available in the word of God to be discovered and applied. And all these things can be given to them as the Holy Spirit wills because they are in His hand. For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God;...let's obey the Son. Let's obey this God/Man. The person who believes that the Son is Spirit has eternal life, is what the passage says to me. Don't you get that message, too? But it is received through the spirit and words given without measure. The Son is Spirit and He gives the spirit as down payment and a pledge of our inheritance as God's possession. That's the way I see it. ******* Romans 8:14, "For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of **God." John 6:63, Literally, "The Spirit is the One who makes alive; the flesh does not help at all. The words which **I speak to you spirit are and life they are." From the heart, Ray |

2 | Filled with Holy Spirit? | Eph 4:23 | Morant61 | 150119
Greetings Ray! I would agree with what Doc wrote to you about your position my friend! God is infinite. He can be all places at one time. There is not more or less God here next to me there is there next to you. In the same way, I can be filled 'without measure' with the Holy Spirit, and so could everyone else. It is not like we are going to run out of Holy Spirit! ;-) I just don't see any Biblical reason to interpret 'pneuma hagios' as anything other than the Third Person of the Trinity. There are certaintly places in Scripture where 'pneuma' alone can refer to other things, but I don't see anything in Scripture to indicate that 'pneuma hagios' is anthing else but God the Spirit. 3 | Filled with Holy Spirit? | Eph 4:23 | Ray | 150139
Hi Tim, When you say that we are not going to run out of Holy Spirit you are disagreeing with the "leak" idea suggested by some. Right? That idea doesn't hold water with me either, but then again the question is moot with me because I don't believe that we are "filled" with the Holy Spirit. From my point of view, it is not like we are going to run out of wind, or spirit either. John 3:5, Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and of *spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the *spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, "You must be born from above." 8 The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the *spirit." That is the way I see it. And what we are doing here is testing the spirits [the words] to see which are from God; and not only that but also testing to see which ones are speaking of God Himself. 1) For instance John 6:63 that I referenced earlier, should it read "It is the Spirit who gives life" or "The Spirit is the One who gives life."? 4 | Filled with Holy Spirit? | Eph 4:23 | Morant61 | 150145
Greetings Ray! If you accept that the Holy Spirit dwells within us (per Rom. 8:11), what is the difference between dwelling and filling? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

5 | Filled with Holy Spirit? | Eph 4:23 | Ray | 150276
Hi Tim, There is a difference between "indwelling" and "dwelling". The Holy Spirit indwells us. We are filled with the holy spirit. Job 33:4, "The *Spirit of God/ has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life." Revelation 11:11, "...the breath of life from *God came into them..." Job 34:14b, "...If **He should gather to Himself/ His (s)Spirit and His breath, All flesh would perish together, and man would return to dust." From the heart, Ray |

6 | Filled with Holy Spirit? | Eph 4:23 | Morant61 | 150282
Greetings Ray! First of all, if I have understood your position correctly, you are concerned that one could not be 'filled' with the Holy Spirit because one could not contain all of the Holy Spirit. Yet, would not this also be a problem with indwelling in a believer as well? Does 'all' of the Holy Spirit indwell us or just part? ;-) If all of the Holy Spirit can indwell a believer, why can't all of the Holy Spirit fill a believer? Secondly, none of the Scriptures you cited in your last post said anything about 'pneuma hagios'. So, how did they make your case my friend? Finally, where does Scripture make a distinction between 'dwelling' and 'indwelling'? Rom. 8:11 actually uses the word 'to dwell' in reference to the Holy Spirit and His relationship to believers. So, I'm not sure what you mean by your distinction between the two words. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
