1 | Human judgement | 2 Cor 13:5 | d9uga | 70243
I think judging a person isn't right, but expressing an opinion about a person is legitimate. What is judgement (between 2 persons, not in the courthouse)? A difficult matter I think. But an opinion is quite easy. If a person said about me that I were to be an idiot, the man expressed an opinion, and this does not necessarily effects me. But if someone with authority were to say such a thing about me I would be sent immediately for a psychological observation in a suitable compound. In my view the difference lies in the question: 'Was anything done?' Comments? |

2 | Human judgement | 2 Cor 13:5 | One | 70246
John 7:24 "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." I think in this case it is important to note that it is an unrighteous judgment that is wrong. At time Christians have to judge. If I were cheating on my wife my brothers in Christ would be obligated to tell me I was wrong. The problem arises when people judge by external things, like someone one told me, "If you don't wear a tie on Sunday you don't respect God.” So judge but only according to what God calls sin, nothing more or less. |
