1 | What is the exceeding sinfulness of sin? | Rom 7:13 | EdB | 125204
Justme No I don't work at Lockman. Aixen7z4 has a website where he offers counseling for fee. No problem there. However in what I view as distasteful he uses links in his website to Lockman not to promote Lockman but instead to promote his. Further he has suggested that he used links to various threads as topic points on his website. His website very confusing to me but from what I gather from the brief time I have spent there that he posts hypotheical questions on the Study Bible Forum and uses our efforts to make his point on his website. In other words he is using the expertise or lack of it here on the Study Bible Forum to add substance to his website. I see it as he is trying to profit from the efforts and labor of others. EdB |

2 | What is the exceeding sinfulness of sin? | Rom 7:13 | justme | 125213
EdB: I went there also before I wrote you. I had a hard time because it kept poping up with some sorta program I was to download. However it seemed full of stuff abd not user friendly. I have a real problem with "counseling" on the internet. I had a counseling center in a large south western city, and more often than not those who need help the most can least afford it. As a ministry no person was ever turned away or sent a bill. This was not a means of support, it was a ministry, with a mission to help those in need. I can not see how anyone would pay anything for counseling over an unsecure, open web site. The unethical use of other peoples words without permission to quote or use their material is unethical, unchristian, and perhaps illegal. If this is happening then this person should be asked to leave the Forum. I am amazed that this would even be thought of. I like many others have blessed by the Lockman Foundation. I have been blessed by the work and effort it took for the NASB to come about. I have been so deeply touched by the richness of the wording used by the translators. I especially think the updated NASB is the Bible that speakes to my soul the most. Several of my seminary professors were part of the translators. So my respect goes very deep for the NASB. But how blessed we are to have so many good English Bibles, and yet the Bible is the best selling book that very few read. Blessings EdB. justme |

3 | Who did sin, that man, or his accusers? | Rom 7:13 | PasserBy | 133944
I ran into this little thread again (I ws looking for something on the nature of sin) and I must say I am really puzzled by it. The thread has to do with the sinfulness of sin, but it seems the originator should not have brought it up because in so doing he was committing a sin. What was his sin? He was soliciting information with the intention of sending his clients to this thread to read the information. His clients would be paying him and they would be getting the information here for free. That is different from what the owners of this site do, to offer all of the information on this forum for free. Meanwhile, it is OK for them to sell Bibles on the same web site. Maybe I am dense or unspiritual or something else you might suggest, but I don’t get it. This man is accused of providing counseling on an unsecured web site. But has anyone seen any personal information about anyone on his site? It may be that the method he uses is just too complicated for those who have commented here to understand. You describe his web site as unfriendly and I am sure you do not use it, but is it right to describe what he does as unethical and illegal? Unethical to refer people to free information. Illegal to offer links to that information. He might have thought that all information posted on the Internet was available to everyone. For free. But now it seems that everyone has decided to withhold their thoughts on the topic of sin for fear the brother might get hold of that information and pass it on to others. It is suggested here that the person should be banned from the forum for doing these things. I suppose the sin is stealing. Stealing information. I don’t get it. You might also bar the brother from ever entering your church because he might learn something there that he might later share with his paying clients. I don’t get it. But I wonder if the attitude expressed here, or the opposition to his ministry, is a sin. |
