1 | Show me scripture that says we can sin | Acts 15:11 | EdB | 143229
Okay, then aren’t you in agreement with the crux of my question? That repentance is necessary for salvation and by definition repentance from sin is to hate or avoid sin, you turn away from sin. That is to say you turn away from mediated sin. You still might react to a situation and sin. But you no longer consciously set out to commit sin. Therefore there will be not be murderers, liars, thieves, and adulterers in heaven. Only repented murderers, repented liars, repented thieves and repented adulterers. The missing word was repented. To enter heaven you must be repentant and trusting in the blood of Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Do you agree? EdB |

HisEmpress Okay now think of all the ramifications of wqhat you agreed with. If we repent we turn from sin, we hate sin, we resist committing sin, sinning is no longer part of our nature. Doesn’t all of this make any discussion such as ‘Can a Christian commit murder and be saved’ unnecessary? EdB |

Ok now we get technical, which is good. First you don't have to be a christian to go to heaven. Being "classified" does not matter. The bible says, "Thou shall NOT commit murder"! There seems to be imformation missing after that. Why would God say "Thou shall Not..." and then say, well, if you ask for forgiveness... God does not change he is the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow. So if he put the law down then it still applies today. So back to your original question, Can a Christian commit murder and be saved? According the the new testament, yes. But according to the old testament no, because they would have been stoned. But my answer to you is, there are no degrees of sin and if someone sins and asks for forgiveness they will be forgiven. But they better fear God because they will be punished. Not only that is they die in the act of any sin before they have the chance to ask for forgivness they go to hell without question. So there really is no point in even taking the chance and if someone choses to do so they face the consequinces. |

Perhaps you would clarify your statement and I quote, "First you don't have to be a christian to go to heaven." Do you not agree that the only way to heaven is by the Blood of Christ? Is not a follower of Christ a Christian? EdB |

6 | Show me scripture that says we can sin | Acts 15:11 | Mr and Mrs Rowdy | 143246
This passage from Jesus sounds pretty conclusive to me. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. I don't see how anyone could argue. Jesus Christ is the one single way we have to be assured of going to Heaven. God bless. Rowdy |

Rowdy I think you were asked to leave his forum beccause of your repeated refusal to submit to Lockman guidelines. Hence your privilege of posting here was revoked. I think it is unbecoming of anyone especially someone that claims to be a Christian to circumvent the system by deception. Therefore I don’t think you have anything to offer this discussion and ask you to reconsider your actions. EdB |

Not everyone who believes God has excepted them no matter what and would not reject them for anything is looking for a way to live in sin, especially murder. There is a difference being justified and sactified. God justifies win we believe in Jesus and sactification envolves our efforts which won't get us into heaven. So then God's gift is not a question of human will and human effort, but of God's mercy. It depends not on ones own willigness nor on his streneous exertion as in running a race, but on God's having mercy on him. Rom 9:16 |
