1 | John 1:18 "only begotten God". | John 1:18 | Morant61 | 76937 | ||
Greetings Sisterkath! I pray that you really are willing to hear! The JW's use a lot of word twisting and half-truths to confuse the issue. One of their tricks is to create a false distinction between 'mighty God' and 'almighty God'. This distinction simply is not real. Are we in agreement that there is only one Jehovah? Is. 9:6 calls Jesus the 'Mighty God'. Yet, Jer. 32:18 also calls Jehovah the 'Mighty God'. The same exact phrase is used in both verses. Allow me to show you how this distinction between these two words is false. There are many titles and descriptions used to describe God. However, not every verses uses every one of them. We are in agreement that Jehovah is the Almighty God, but Jer. 32:18 does not call Jehovah the 'Almighty God'. It only calls Him 'Mighty God'. Does this mean that there are two Jehovahs? One who is 'Almighty God' and one who is 'Mighty God'? Not even every verse which speaks of Jehovah calls Him Jehovah, but we know that He is Jehovah. As far as Is. 43:10, I have already explained several times. Jehovah Himself says that there are no other 'gods' besides Him. Therefore, Jesus, in John 1:1, cannot be 'a god' or 'another god'. He must be Jehovah God. This is why He refers to Himself as the "I AM" in John 8:58. This is why He says that one must believe that He is the "I AM" in order to be saved from their sins (John 8:24). This is also why the JW's are a cult. They deny that Jesus is the "I AM" of John 8:24 and 8:58. It is essential that you pray about this and think for yourself. Is. 43:10 does not say that there is only one 'Almighy God' and many lesser gods. It says that there are no other gods, period. The JW's have made Jehovah out to be a liar because they have rejected Jesus. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Tim, Yes, we are in agreement that there is only one God, Jehovah. At Isaiah 43:10, The King James Version, New American Standard and New International; all have capital letters for LORD, but Amplified has little letters for Lord. Why is this, if I may ask? I have reseach ahead of me. And I will get back to you. Thank-you for your reply. sisterkath |

Greetings Sisterkath! I believe the difference with the Amplified is because it does not captalize all references to YWHW as does many of the other translations. Have a great day! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
