1 | IS LAZARUS AND THE RICH MAN A PARABLE | Luke 16:19 | kalos | 156827 | ||
In 1 Samuel 28, what does the Bible actually SAY? "When the woman saw Samuel..." (v. 12 NASB). "And Saul knew that it was Samuel..." (v. 14 NASB). "Then Samuel said..." (v.15 NASB). Saul fell upon the ground "and was very afraid because of the words of SAMUEL" v. (20 NASB). The Bible doesn't tell us HOW it could happen, it just tells us that it happened. The text does not suggest that "this was not Samuel but a demon". Once again, we know what the Bible means by what it says. What it says in this chapter is "the woman saw SAMUEL"; "Saul KNEW that IT WAS SAMUEL"; "then SAMUEL said". The idea that this was anyone or anything other than Samuel is not supported by the text of 1 Samuel chapter 28. |

Sorry kalos, I thought I was responding to mark d sevier. I'm still getting used to this sites format. I agree with you that we need to take the scripture literally. It is the only safe way for us to study. SBoone |
