1 | Are we looking for a way or the Way? | Matt 7:13 | Ray | 143563
Matthew 7:11, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!" In John 14:8 Philip said to Jesus, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." What do you think? Is knowing the Father enough of a way for us? From the heart, Ray |

2 | Are we looking for a way or the Way? | Matt 7:13 | lionheart | 143570
In Genesis 15:1 God tells Abraham Do not be afraid Abram.I am your shield, your very great reward.I dont know if I would look at knowing the Father as a way as much as I would look at it as the way. God is what we get I dont know that it gets any better than that.I guess the big question here now is do we get complacent or do as Paul states in Philippians 2:12 work out your salvation with fear and trembling;13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. I would pray that all of us will be inspired to go above and beyond where our walk with God is concerned. In Christ, lionheart |

3 | Are we looking for a way or the Way? | Matt 7:13 | Ray | 143573
Hi lionheart, You wrote, "I don't know if I would look at knowing the Father as a way as much as I would look at it as the way." I love language, but it is often hard to determine the emphases and meaning on the typed paper. I think you are differentiating between "a way" and "the way". O.K. I see that as your point of focus. Now look at the sentence looking at differentiating between the "Father as a way" and "it as the way". Is "it" a way"? Is "it" enough for us? Is the father or even the Father enough for us? You have mentioned an excellent verse for working out this question. I do not see God the Father as an "it". This is my translation/interpretation for that verse. Philippians 2:12, "for God is the *One who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure." We are children of (God) as we walk with (Him). 1 John 3:1, "See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of (God); and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him." 1 John 2:6, "the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as (He) walked." The parentheses are mine for comparisons. From the heart, Ray |
