1 | Agan,does it mean saints are Christians | Dan 7:25 | Chusarcik | 70574 | ||
EdB, But doesn't your second answer indicate it COULD be talking about Christians in general as I first took it to mean rather than the Jews specifically? Thanks again for your comments; They are much appreciated, Chusarcik |

Chusarcik Before I get crucified for claiming the word "saints" used here is exclusive to Jews let me explain. Daniel is Jewish prophet, his book was written to a Jewish audience. Does that exclude all gentiles? No, we are grafted into the lineage of Abraham through our belief in Jesus. Do I see this meaning all saved Christians? It may. Nothing would prevent that. However Daniel is focused on Jews and is more inclined to be talking about saved Jews at this point. Some would argue and say because it is talking saints that must mean the rapture hasn't taken place and therefore shooting down pre trib rapture. However I think that would be taking liberties with scripture. The pre trib rapture could have taken place and since we see the witnesses preaching salvation we can suspect there were salvations occurring and these might be the saints talked about. In any case I don’t see how, without taking real liberties with scripture, any timing of the rapture could be determined by this scripture. EdB |
