1 | What is the significance of the wheels? | Ezek 10:9 | echo | 66858
In Ezekiel 10 an account is given of the wheels of the Cherubim. My question is, what do these represent what is the importance of the wheels in regard to the cherubim? In chapter 1 a similar account is given of these beings. I know some Bible scholars remark on the heads of the cherubim relating to the tribes of Israel as they were organized in camp and how they shall be organized in heaven under the banners of the Eagle, Lion, Bull and Man as seen in Revelation. I also have heard that those heads can also represent the aspects of the four gospels. But I am having a hard time linking these wheels to other parts of scripture or figuring out there importance. Anything would help. Your brother in christ, Echo |

2 | What is the significance of the wheels? | Ezek 10:9 | Ray | 66890
Hi Echo, "Anything will help." OK then, here is my spin on the wheels. I would have you study Ezekiel 1:12, 20, and 21 for the five words of power in the NKJ. If you use the NASB you will have to include Ezekiel 10:17. Then compare them with 1 Corinthians 14:19. Also compare Ezekiel with the five words of power found in 1 Corinthians 4:20-6:17. I've tried to find the post where I talked about Ezekiel but didn't find it, sorry. |

3 | What is the significance of the wheels? | Ezek 10:9 | echo | 66897
Hello Ray, Thank you for your speedy reply. I am still rather confused as to what exact five words of power you and 1 Corinthians 14:19 were referring to. In studying the Ezekiel passages I was only able to come up with four words those being: to go, to rise, to stand still, and to BE in the Spirit. However when looking at 1 Corinthians I was only able to find of those four to be in the Spirit, to rise and to go. My question for you now is am I on the right track or am I looking at different things than you intended? Was your point that we should act towards Jesus Christ as the wheels did to the being? That we were risen from the dead through His resurrection, that we need to go where He goes, and we need to stand still or be still when He is still? Just some thoughts that were running through my head, if I am completely off base and you were intending to mean a completely different thing than let me know. I will continue to study this passage as I continue to be confounded by it. I pray that God grants me the wisdom to discern what His intention was behind this part of His word. In Him, Echo 2 Timothy 2:15 |

4 | What is the significance of the wheels? | Ezek 10:9 | Ray | 66945
Hi Echo, I am impressed with your desire to know and your work ethic in digging for answers. I am sorry that I was so vague in what I was suggesting to you, and sorry that no one else could help you in your study. I would not say that you are off base in the thoughts that you came up with but they are not what I intended to lead you to. The only thing that I was meaning to point out to you is that the word "spirit" (which to me is a word of spiritual power), is mentioned five times in this section of Scripture. Ezekiel 1:12, 20, (three times), and 21 in the NKJ. In 1 Corinthians 4:21 there is one "spirit". The other four are found in 5:3,4,5, and 6:17. Somewhere in the archives is a discussion about why I thought that the number five was chosen by Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:19, and I used these verses in my theory. If this makes sense to you, and you want to read the discussion, perhaps it is at 1 Corinthians 14:19. Or type in "Ray five words" or Ray Ezekiel in the Search at the top right. The five words of "spirit" concerning 1 Corinthians 14:19 are found in 14:2, 14, 15, 15, and 16. I know that the studying you did was not for nothing; however I am sorry that I did not make myself more clear in trying to help you. From the heart, Ray |
