AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ezekiel 10:9 ¶ Then I looked and behold, [there were] four wheels beside the cherubim, one wheel beside one cherub and another wheel beside each other cherub; and the appearance of the wheels was like a sparkling Tarshish stone (beryl). |
Bible Question:
In Ezekiel 10 an account is given of the wheels of the Cherubim. My question is, what do these represent what is the importance of the wheels in regard to the cherubim? In chapter 1 a similar account is given of these beings. I know some Bible scholars remark on the heads of the cherubim relating to the tribes of Israel as they were organized in camp and how they shall be organized in heaven under the banners of the Eagle, Lion, Bull and Man as seen in Revelation. I also have heard that those heads can also represent the aspects of the four gospels. But I am having a hard time linking these wheels to other parts of scripture or figuring out there importance. Anything would help. Your brother in christ, Echo |
Bible Answer: I have been trying to find a drawing or any artwork depicting Ezekiel's vision and have even tried to draw it myself...may do a painting of it later...as far as the wheels, my only theory, thus far, is that a ring represents forever...it has no beginning and no end...and in Ezekiel's vision it was a wheel within a wheel...if you were to seperate those wheels...place one on top of the other you'd form the number 8 which is a symbol for eternity...but I think what is most important about the wheels is that Ezekiel said that the Spirit of the Creature was in them...also, the rims of the wheels were high and had eyes...maybe the wheels are the eyes of God upon us...There are many places in bible where something is going to and fro and if you have a wheel within a wheel you can, not only, go to and fro but you can also ascend and descend!!...As you can see, I'm still working on this myself! Just thought I'd share my ideas with you! |
