He created the tree of the knowledge of good and evil did he not?
4 | Did God create evil? | Is 45:7 | SavedbyGrace7 | 88799
Yes, he did create it. The reason why I am asking if God created evil is because a co-worker asked me, How can a God who is loving and merciful create evil. If he is light then how can darkness come out of him.

Are you sure that God created Evil? You do realize don't you that there is a difference between "creating" Evil, and "permitting" Evil? All that God created is "Good". Why? Because God is good. He is truly Just, Holy, and Righteous. That is taught everywhere in the Bible. Sin is everything that is opposite of God. God cannot create anything that he is opposite of himself. Second, How can God be the perfect and righteous Judge of all if he is evil? How can he set laws of right and wrong if he is evil? Since when does an evil person obey the laws? See my point? As for the passage you chose, Are you sure that "Darkness" is refering to "Evil"? Jesus Loves You! Jesusman |

I see your point but, if God did not create evil then who did. I know that God permits for things to happend. I know that sin is in an act of desobedience which happened as a result of EVIL. God is the Alpha and the Omega? Nothing existed prior to God's creation of EVERYTHING including ANGELS (AND THE DEVIL)...so then, that leads me to the conclusion that GOD CREATED EVIL. |

SIN IS NOT ITSELF A THING CREATED "Evil originates not from God but from the fallen creature... "It is helpful, I think, to understand that sin is not itself a thing created. Sin is neither substance, being, spirit, nor matter. So it is technically not proper to think of sin as something that was created. "Sin is simply a want of moral perfection in a fallen creature. Fallen creatures themselves bear full responsibility for their sin. And all evil in the universe emanates from the sins of fallen creatures" (www.gty.org). |

Before creation there was NOTHING. After creation there was GOOD and EVIL. We know that GOD created everything. To say that God didn’t create evil is to say that He didn’t create good as well because both are not things; they’re both intangible, yet, they do exist like the air we breathe. Who or what tempted Lucifer to sin? What motivated him to become like God?... It obviously wasn’t God because He doesn’t tempt anyone (Jam 1:13). Something had to tempt Lucifer to fall? |

9 | Did God create evil? | Is 45:7 | Jesusman | 88837
No, After creation there was only Good. Somtime after Creation, Satan exherted his own desires in a vain attempt to be like God. God then kicked him out of heaven. Lucifer became lustful over God's power, and attempted to take it for himself. After Lucifer fell, he then tempted Adam and Eve to sin. When Adam disobeyed God, Sin then entered into the World. God did not create Evil and Sin. He permitted it. Satan created evil, and sin. Jesusman |
