1 | Why is the ground declared holy? | Ex 3:5 | coavrl1 | 112536
Why is the ground holy? The land was cursed at the fall of man and everything else that has been touched by the course must be sanctified. Is it possible that this land was sanctified? If so, by what? Is it possible that it's connected to the name of the mountain as being "the mountain of God"? I, personally, don't believe that the presence of God is a valid answer because the temple had to be sanctified for God's presence to dwell there (Day of Atonement), so what makes this different? Is it? Questions...questions...questions...any answers?
2 | Why is the ground declared holy? | Ex 3:5 | coavrl1 | 112570
To be totally blunt and absolutely frank, I disagree with you all. I think that that answer is a cop out. God created the earth, but along with man (who God also created and requires sanctification before God - Holy Spirit - can dwell within him) I believe that there needs to be some other explanation. Something that I'm considering is the possiblity that this was the "Mountain of God" because people may have worshiped there. I'm researching some verses on that currently. I hope that I'm not being abnoxious, but your answer doesn't fit the question perfectly and I think that if it's God's word, it needs to. Thank you for your time, though. Becca |

I AM SO SORRY! I just read that again and realized that I came accross as rude and abnoxious. Please forgive me. That was not my intent. You can basically read those words as words I've written to myself time and time again as I've accepted thing that people told me and just went on about my day. I don't by it anymore, though. I need more information and right now, the different sides aren't weighing up so I'm looking for more answers. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PATIENCE WITH ME AND FOR YOUR TIME! By His GRACE and MERCY, Becca |

Becca Let us reason for a moment. You may find fascination asking yourself these questions, but I think the adversary has you on an endless goose chase. Chasing after the unknown. I see this similarity here with John 4:16-24 Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here." [17] The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have well said, 'I have no husband,' [18] for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly." [19] The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. [20] Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship." [21] Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. [22] You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. [23] But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. [24] God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." Would being able to prove without a doubt which mountain peak is really Mt. Sinai get anyone saved? I doubt it the whole nation of Israel was there, but later we and only a small handful was willing to trust in God enough to believe His promise and were made to wander and die in the wilderness. Therefore where the Mountain is, isn’t the thing that is important what is important is do we have God dwelling in us today. EdB |

EdB... Thank you for your time and replies. You're right! The Exodus account doesn't change much if you believe the Bible is God's word and will hold it above all else in faith. My conviction, however, comes from holding that view with confidence against a world that thinks otherwise. My nephew and brother have spent a week telling me that the Bible has errors and is inaccurate or unbelievable and because I've asked questions like this, I know better. I was taught years ago by many men in my life to ask the hard questions and doing so gives me a great comfort. Not only is the God I follow real and His word truth, but I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT TRUTH! I can understand the quirky details and better yet, I can explain to others (like my brother and nephew) what God was doing and what power and passion that displayed when He did it. If God didn't intned for me to understand it, it would not be communication...God's word to man. But God didn't and I can...I can ask these hard questions and seek out answers. Similarly, I can ask how or why the Bible says one thing and Science says another. Well, science has holes and God doesn't. So, science has filled those holes and found the truth that God said was there in the first place. That same truth is stuff that I can find and that gives me a deeper view into who God is and what He's doing. If that's not how you work, I totally understand. Most people think my questions aren't worth the time, but I think otherwise and I'll keep looking. Though...if it's not going to excite anyone else, maybe not here. Thank you for your time and kind words. me |

coavrl1 Fair enough. Let me ask two things. First when you get an answer to this question that is confirmed by God's Word would you let me know. Second if you would be kind enough to give me an example of one of these extraneous facts that helped lead someone to the Lord. I’m always willing to learn Be Blessed and be a Blessing EdB |
