1 | The Sovereignty of God | Ps 103:19 | justme | 124775
Hank: I am not sure that the sovereignty of God is not being taught or preached. I realy have not much to judge this by. Our Pastor does teach this and other pastors before him as well. I personally would not go to a church that did not teach a complete theology of the Bible. Perhaps if more Christians either made a strong imput to their pastor about this it would help. Perhaps when pastors are told this, and no change is made, it's time to go where the complete Word is taught. Any thoughts? Justme |

2 | The Sovereignty of God | Ps 103:19 | Hank | 124782
Justme: Thanks for responding. This old Razorback hasn't swapped ideas with the Missouri Mule in a spell :-) I'm joyed that you have resumed more Forum activity and hope this indicates that your health is holding up. ..... Justme, while it is not true of my church and I trust not of yours, it is nevertheless true that today there is in many sectors of the so-called Christian community an erosion of sound doctrine. When this occurs, the first target is the denial of the absolute authority and inerrancy of Scripture. The second is the sovereignty of God. This one is more subtle and creeps in gradually, silently, and covertly without making a big splash. The man in the pew hardly guesses what's going on until its done. And what is this philosophy that eats away at the biblical doctrine of the sovereignty of God? In a word, humanism, and humanism always leads to liberal theology. WE are the masters of our fate, says humanism, WE are the captains of our souls. It is WE who can shape the world, WE who determine our destiny, and WE, according to the blasphemous Word of Faith theology, WE can paint God in the corner, WE can manuever Him, WE can force Him to give us the health and wealth WE are due. ..... Justme, read and compare the sermons of godly preachers like Spurgeon, Edwards, R. G. Lee, W. A. Criswell, Adrian Rogers, and David Jeremiah, to name but a few -- read and compare their preaching on the sovereignty of God with the Word of Faith clowns, and other fuzzy-wuzzy feel-gooders who blanket our airwaves with their pale, watered down, insipid versions of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The sovereignty of God IS being taught and preached in the world today, but it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find it. --Hank
3 | The Sovereignty of God | Ps 103:19 | justme | 124784
Hank: Thank you for your responce. My exposure to unbiblical teaching and preaching is almost nill. I try to keep in tuned with genuine "Word food" not garbage. Yes I agree that there much be a lot of pure junk theology being taught and spread. The best was to spot a counterfis is to keep your eyes on the orginal, that what banks tell the people who handel money. The same is true for Christians I am sure. My health is in the Lords hands a snever before. I have been in the hospital for blood cots in my right leg, and numerious pulmonary embolisms in both lungs. This is very serious. I am home because the doctors say the rest is up to the Warfin blood thinner, and time. I would request your prayers once again. I am at peace, and trust I am in the direct will of the Lord, and that ain't bad. I can think of no other place I would rather be. Blessings. justme |

Justme: As your response to my note came in just moments ago, I was reading tgc's note to you about your health, followed up the branch and read your report about your present health problems that you made to Pastor Glenn. I am so sorry, dear brother, to hear this, and rest assured you have my prayers and best wishes for you and your family as you meet this crucible in your life with deep faith in your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God be with you and comfort you, my friend. --Hank
5 | The Sovereignty of God | Ps 103:19 | justme | 124790
Hank: Thank you for your kind note, and prayers. This is a time that the peace and love that has been established over time with a genuine love relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, really proves to be sufficant for all our needs. I take Romans 8:28,29 together. I am too being conformed into the likeness of Christ. I have put my trust totally in teh Holy Fathers will for my life. That Hank is a very special place to reside. My family is my ministry now, and that is the highest calling a man can have. In EACH FOR THE OTHER, Bryan Chapell says "The head of a home stands before God on behalf of his family and he lives before his family on behalf of God". This statement should bring every husband and or father to his knees, this is almi\ost too high a calling. I read this recently and it rocked my world, and shook the spiritual ground I stand upon. Blessings dear brother in Christ. justme |
