1 | Leave what mother/father (Gen 2:24)? | Gen 2:24 | xina | 182041
Why bother with the leave mother/father bit (2:24) if seemingly neither of them have a mother and father? Is He’s saying that Adam is no longer dependent of Him for direction/orders, but that they are now responsible for making some decisions in their lives? Is it reestablishing their free will/ability to forge their own path without first getting the approval of or order from Him—in order to set the foundation of the Fall in the next chapter, just as the commentary that they were naked and felt no shame (v.25) goes to set up the next chapter’s impending contrast of shame in their nakedness after eating of the tree?
2 | Leave what mother/father (Gen 2:24)? | Gen 2:24 | mark d seyler | 182047
