401 | What is unleavened bread? | OT general | CDBJ | 159169
Hello chosen 1, Your question, “What is unleavened bread?” The word unleavened if from the Hebrew word, “matstsah” and here is the Strong’s definition: in the sense of greedily devouring for sweetness; properly sweetness; concrete sweet (i.e. not soured or bittered with yeast); specifically an unfermented cake or loaf, or (elliptical) the festival of Passover (because no leaven was then used) unleavened (bread, cake), without leaven. Hi John 11 and welcome to the forum. Did God say he would? Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. HI JJM and welcome to the forum, If it were me, I would take the child to her pediatrician because it's more then likely something in the child’s life style or diet that causing the unrest and something in her subconscious is triggering the situations. While in the semi conscious state it is very hard to apply Bible doctrine to a problem because sound reasoning at that point is aloof. CDBJ |

406 | "Lamp of the wicked" | OT general | CDBJ | 235774
Greetings and welcome to the forum. I’m thinking that you might be referring to Prov. 13:9 instead of Prov. 21:4? Proverbs 13:9 (KJV) 9 The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. This, as I have been lead to understand, is a reference to ones life. It could be said in today’s vernacular that the plug was pulled. This is from (Bible Knowledge Commentary) 13:9. A light and a lamp, common metaphors (cf. 6:23; 20:20; 21:4; 24:20; Job 18:5-6; Ps. 119:105), refer here to physical life. If a lamp in a Near Eastern tent went out at night, the surroundings were pitch dark, mindful of the darkness of death. The righteous will have a long life, but the wicked will die early. 407 | Jesus is our Father, who is our Mother? | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 40487
The Sadducees seem to have had the same trouble with trying to understand a situation similar to your question. There is no need for a mother, the angels didn't have a mother because they are created beings the same as born again believers are at the point of trusting in Christ. 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. A mother is only needed for the production of physical life not spiritual life. Matthew 22:29-30 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. God didn't need the mothers to make angles the same way he doesn't need mothers for a new creature in Christ. There will be no procreation in heaven. Ephes. 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Sorry no mother status in heaven with due respect to all you wonderful moms out there! CDBJ |

410 | To heaven immediately aft death orwait? | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 41183
As soon as we leave these bodies we are with the Lord. 2 Cor. 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. The words (present with) are the Koine Greek words ENDEMSAI PROS. The fuller meaning from the Greek is (to be at home and face to face with the Lord) and it will be instantaneous. The trial that you mention for the believer has already happened and Jesus took our punishment. If your comment is in reference to the judgment seat of Christ, the Greek word in this case is BEMA seat. 2 Cor. 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. This is not a judgment of sin but for reward. It is the same as those who are in Olympic competition; the bad (KAKOS) the same as lacking, are not condemned they just don't receive the higher point rating for rewards. 1 Cor. 3:11-15 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Notice, NO SIN mentioned, that was taken care of in the foundation work. Happy Easter, CDBJ |

You might try 1 John 5:10-13 (KJV) He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Or the following. Acts 16:31 (KJV) And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. |

416 | Why will Satan be bound then loosed ? | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 45570
Well in my estimation, which doesn't mean much, I think that God does this to show that even with a perfect world, that man is still no good because he still has an old sin nature. It is evident that Satan when he is released that there will be those that will follow him even after having perfect rule on earth for almost 1000 years.
417 | priests back then different now? | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 46634
The priesthood was done away with after the perfect sacrifice was offered. Any priest that are functioning to day are not authorized by the Word of God. 1 Tim. 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; When Christ ascended up to heaven he left men with certain responsibilities in the function of the church for it's growth and well being, notice that there is no mention of any priest. Ephes. 4:10-13 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: Every person that is a genuine born again believer is in the royal priesthood as an individual. 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: In the old Testament the priest was used as a go between and he only could inter into the presents of God in the most Holy place in the temple. When Christ died for us the vale that separated God from believers was torn from top to bottom showing that God himself has opened up the way to himself. Now we can go directly to God with out the use of a priest to intermediate for us. Hebrews 4:14-16 (KJV) Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Friend you better stay where you are or find another church that teaches the Bible word for word. A good way to tell if the church is teaching truth is to watch and see if the ones that are going into the church services are carrying Bibles in with them! If they aren't they are most likely just going through the motions of ritual and they don't have the reality of the living Christ in their life. My question to you would be, have you had the experience of a personal relationship with Christ yet. i.e. are you sure without a shadow of doubt that Jesus is in you and you are in him? In Christ love, CDBJ |

418 | how do you overcome fear of failure? | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 56825
My first question to you before I can give a good answer is how long have you been a true born again Christian? I had much the same feelings when I was a new believer and sometimes I think that I must have muddied up a lot of water before it got easy for me. Most of the time we have fear of personal rejection and that is only overcome by years of studying the Bible and learning how to trust in the truth that it contains. Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. You don’t have to have fear of failure because in a way you can never succeed anyway. Take witnessing as an example one will never succeed at witnessing because it is God that has to do the work not us. All we are able to do is plant the seed or maybe water it a little but it is God that has to cause the life. 1 Cor. 3:6-7 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. [7] So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. We can never cause anyone to understand the message of the Gospel, so it doesn’t mater how good or experienced you might be. It’s the Lord that causes understanding. Matthew 16:13-17 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? [14] And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. [15] He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? [16] And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. [17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. If God the father doesn’t want to reveal truth to the person you are witnessing to at that time, namely who Jesus is and what he did for them, no mater what you say or how hard you try it won’t make any difference, so you might as well relax and have fun and enjoy watching the Lord work, flesh and blood can’t reveal truth! Relax in the Lord and in the power of His Might. CDBJ |

419 | needed surgery verses elective | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 62896
I don’t know how many feel about this but I can tell you from the way I see it. There is a verse that says that we are ambassadors for Christ. 2 Cor. 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. I think that as ambassadors we should be the best looking, happiest most outgoing, group on the planet. The way we look and act sometimes speaks so loud that people can’t hear what we are trying to tell them. You know the old saying the first impression is the one that counts the most. People have to win the opportunity to talk to someone about Christ. We have to make people want what we have and they are more apt to listen to someone who looks like a winner not a loser. Some think that in order to be spiritual that they must walk around with a hangdog expression of their face and not show any self-respect. They dress sloppy and shuffle there feet to try and look humble and sloppy then they tell people that they are Christians. The most beautiful one in the whole universe is our precious Lord Jesus and he says that we are his ambassadors. Now you make up your own mind. There is a verse that applies to all that we do. Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. I hope this helps, CDBJ |

420 | Jesus know all things why marvelled? | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 62976
I think that the problem that you having with this Verse, Matt. 8:10, is your understanding of the word marvelled. It is a little misleading if one thinks that it means surprised. Matthew 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. The word marveled comes to us from the Greek word THAUMAZO. It can also be translated to have in admiration or admired. |
