Bible Question:
Thank you so much for yr reply. Scriptually, does adultery and fornication prevent a person from serving in the church in any capacity? This of course is when, there is knowledge of the sin. |
Bible Answer: Hello ceebee7, Good question, The verse you have posted seems to indicate that this person perhaps is in a leadership or teaching position? If that is so, and the situation is unresolved, I would say that they should not be allowed to stay where they are. But, however, I don't [In my opinion] think that they should be restricted from working in [any] capacity, like say mowing the lawn or cleaning the toilet perhaps. Also, If this person is not willing to resolve the sinful situation that they are in, and someone has confronted them, and then if two, or more have confronted them, and they refuse to acknowledge their sin, and repent of it, then you should treat that as you would a tax collector, and that means to shun them. But if they still wanted to clean the floor, or mow the lawn, I'd say suite yourself friend, go ahead. But again, if they repent..... Luke 17:4 "And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, 'I repent,' forgive him." God bless. John |
