AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Samuel 2:10 "The adversaries of the LORD will be broken to pieces; He will thunder against them in the heavens, The LORD will judge the ends of the earth; And He will give strength to His king, And will exalt the horn (strength) of His anointed." [Luke 1:46] |
Bible Question (short): Is 1 Sam 2:10 b prophecy? |
Question (full): Is Hannah's acclamation in 2:10 (part b) a prophecy for the comming of a king of Israel? At this point in history, Israel was ruled by judges and priests. It was not until her son (Samuel) was in old age that the people asked for: "a king to rule over us, as other countries have." If this is prophecy of a comming king, is it referring to Saul, David, or the Messiah? |
