Bible Question:
In 1 Samual 16:14 it says"an evil" [or injurious] spirit of the Lord.....I do not understand this sentance,I know there is nothing from the Lord evil, but this sentance confusses me, please try and explain, thank you, Kaatje |
Bible Answer: Greetings kaatje, The verse should probably be understood to mean that God sovereignly appointed a demon. one of Satan's emissaries (Matt 12:24), to torment Saul as judgement for his disobedience, (Acts 5:1-3; 1Cor: 5:1-7; 1Tim 1:18-20). The verse points out that God is sovereign over all spiritual powers - even Satan and his assistants. prayon |
