Bible Question: for what person were the apostles to look in each community? |
Bible Answer: Shalom Kmo, At this time the disciples were sent to the lost sheep of Israel, to the Jews. A person who would be deemed worthy would have been a Torah-observant person; one who fulfilled the daily prayers, who gave alms and did good deeds, one who knew the scriptures, etc. Later, when thay were sent to the Gentiles, you can look at Cornelius from the Book of the Acts (Acts 10:1-4) to see a picture of a "worthy" Gentile household - one who did the commandments of God without knowing the commandments.
