Bible Question: Do you think there are any churches that are the most like the early church of Jerusalem? I personally can't think of any because they all have a different way of teaching god's word but not a lot are racially mixed congregations or at least not in my area. Can you think of any? |
Bible Answer: Dear ww2137, If you were looking for diversity in the primitive church, you would want to look outside of Jerusalem. After all, at that time they still needed to move out according to Christ's command in Acts 1:8. You don't see the gospel preached in Samaria until Acts 8:5... talk about mixing congregations! I think you find much greater diversity in the church in Ephesus or Antioch. I don't think you'd have to do much searching around the world today to find churches in which diversity at least matched some of those recorded in Acts. After all, I am a Jewish, and I worship the the Lord Jesus in the company of an Arab family. If that isn't a manifestation of God's work (Ephesians 2:16), I am not sure I would know what it might be. :-) http://www.crossway.org/product/663575723080 In Him, Doc |
