Bible Question (short): Explain freedom as result of submission |
Question (full): I currently find myself working closely with a Muslim and we were discussing freedom "philosphically". It is difficult to summarize his thoughts on freedom...but suffice it to say he believes there really is no such thing. All that kept coming to mind was that by submitting to Christ we become free. I've looked up most of the verses related to freedom but none of them are helping me put into words what I know in my heart about this freedom. I'm pretty sure the obvious argument will be, "if you are submitting, you are not free". I know we have the freedom to choose submission to Christ or not, but that's not the type of freedom I'm looking for. I'm not looking for the first freedom in the transaction to choose, but the subsequent freedom experienced after submitting. Can somebody help me put this second freedom into words????? |
