Bible Note: Thank you, I really appreciate the astute answer. I believe my friends way of "looking at it" was alluding to this verse as saying water baptism is required to be saved. I used the analogy of an inmate on death row accepting Christ and then being executed. That inmate wont have a chance to be water baptized but he fulfilled all that is required to obtain salvation. Which is to accept Christ as Lord and Savior. My friend still went back to this verse and seemed confused by the seeming contradiction. I was, I admit somewhat unable to answer his question.
