Bible Question:
Can anyone tell me, when we seek God do we do so by reading the bible and prayer, or do we do so by seeking to do good and in turn seek Gods favor? I'm just really tired of not being sure of which direction to take and I would really like to seek Jesus Christ, but I am not sure in what way would please Him the most so that I can get His attention. I believe salvation is more than a prayer, it is a life change. I want the life change, I want the adventure of being a follower of Jesus Christ. Without it I don't know what I will do. How can I prove to God and myself that I really want Him. Why does it seem so hard? LJ777 |
Bible Answer: Dear LJ777 here is a bible text that may be helpful- 2 Chronicles 15 - God's message to king Asa. v2 "Listen to me Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you..." v15 They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side." 16: v9 "For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him." Dear friend, I believe that reading the word of God and earnest prayer is a very effective means of seeking God. Pray earnestly and repeatedly that God may intervene in your life in a personal manner and that he may reveal himself to you. I believe with all my heart that you will not be disappointed. The book of The Gospel of John is an excellent reading. I read it over often. I will pray that prayer be answered. Keith :) |
