Bible Question: Hello all. I was a Christian growing up, I was given a bible KJV and have used that ever since. I have fallen away from the faith for a while battling some personal demons, and a now re-acquainting myself with the Lord. However, my question is, with all of the Bibles out there, how is one to know when they could possibly be led astray? the NIV is so popular in Churches, however, I question it due to Deuteronomy 4:2? Looks like there are a lot of missing versus. Anyone have any insight into this? I guess the bottom line is... Believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and confessing your sins unto him. Is the rest realy just a back seat and not worry too much about this? |
Bible Answer: Your question: (Is the rest really just a back seat and not worry too much about this?) For starters the NASB is about as close as one can get to the original language of the Koine Greek. Now doing what you suggest is like letting a baby fend for its self after it is born! We are commanded to study God's Word on a daily basis. 2 Timothy 2:15 (NASB) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. It’s impossible to know the will of God apart from the Word of God. CDBJ |
