Bible Question:
Let's say a very storng government wants to make other two weak governments fight each other so they can profit from it. It is easy for the strong governments to manipulate the two weak govenments and its people to hate each other and fight each other. Possibly using religion, propaganda, false events etc... The two governments will fight each other to death in the name of justice. And meanwhile the strong governments will profit from the two governments and its people's ignorance. Often times that's what war is. There is always a third party who profits form it. The ones who fight for their people and freedom and justice, so called brave ones, end up serving the interests of the third party, the one who started the war in the first place. No matter how patriotic a person might have been defending his country, the person ends up serving for the third party at the end. Don't you see the same thing happening right now as we speak? War in Iraq? Terrorists? Why don't we just let the greedy be greedy? take over the world if they wanted to. Aren't we all going to be dead soon or later after all? How do you justfy defending your freedom, if that freedom comes from killing other humans, also called brave ones. Isn't it time humanity look at the bigger picture of what is going on and has been going on for the past thousands of years? And stop being a part of endless cycle of being manipulated to wars? |
Bible Answer: ssongassu:Romans 14:22 says I am to be careful in what I show approval, as I am to refelect Christ in what I do and say. In Eccl. 3:8, Ps.76:3 Matt. 25:6, all mention war and are well worth reading. I am not an idealist nor do I believe in a uptopia. This world is not my home, I am a soujourner, pilgrim, an alien, I am not of this world. However, I live in this world as an ambassador for Christ for recounciliation to those in need of salvation, who will acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. In matt. 24 Jesus told us to expect very difficult times, and a host of evil things, such as war. I expect to see much suffering for the world and Christians as well. I believe Christians are expected to persevere in suffering, and whatever happens to us. Romans 8:28,29, say we become more like Christ in suffering and hard times. I say this in kindness, you sound like a young person who has a deep sence of the evil and wrong things in this world. You seem sensitive, and tender hearted, I appreciate that. However, from the time Cain murdered Able, there has been a history of such evil. War is always good over evil, or even evil overpowering good. There is no simple answer to the answer you seek. I hope I have expressed myself in a different way for you to see what I think. As for our present circumstance in Iraq, this Study Bible Forum is not the place to dialogue about this political situation. I encourage you to ask questions related to Scripture. I think you will enjoy the forum much more ang get more dialogue if you deal with questions related to the Bible. Blessings. justme |
