Subject: Is Belief in the Trinity Required? |
Bible Note: Hi lionheart, You wrote: “Would you please then share scripture where it says the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are not co-equal.” In my note of November 10 I offered the following scripture: John: 14:28 “I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.” John: 20:17 “I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.” Ephesians 1:3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" and again in verse 17: "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him." In addition, consider Matthew 28:18 “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “ All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” Or John 10:29 “My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand.” God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ are both Gods. Logic dictates that they can be either “co-equal” or God the Father is greater. They cannot be both! So my question remains. If a person does not believe that the two are “co-equal” as stated in the Doctrine of the Trinity, will that person be denied salvation? Holmes |
