Bible Question (short): Is Belief in the Trinity Required? |
Question (full): The Doctrine of the Trinity has the following elements: 1. God is one, but exists in three distinct persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 2. The three are eternal. 3. The three are co-equal. Should church membership require belief in the Trinity and the above three elements? Does salvation require belief in the Trinity and the above three elements? Examples would be a person who believes in the Holy Spirit, not as a separate person, but as the power of God the Father or a person who believes that the Son is God, but not co-equal with God the Father.
