Subject: How do I to better stand on His word?

It sounds to me like you are on the right track. Don’t let you emotions get in the way of believing in God’s promises; that is the quickest way to be defeated in one’s spiritual walk!
Read all of Heb. Chapter 11, then notice what it says in verse 39, then understand that God is the one who reveals truth to us through His Spirit.
John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

I don’t know how long you have been a believer in Christ but for me it’s been over 46 years and I am still learning how to trust the Lord through the application of the faith rest technique.
If you don’t understand certain things ask for wisdom and apply the following.
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

The more time spent in studying God’s word the better off you will be!

1 Peter 2:2
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

2 Tim. 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
