Bible Question:
Shalom y'all, Please leave this up for a little while. My dear friend, Stanley, a diabetic for the last 37 years is really struggling with it now. Kidneys failing, 3 heart attacks this year, neuropathy, etc, but mostly it's a problem with his body absorbing (or not absorbing, I can't remember) his insulin from his pump 3 days each week. Everytime he changes sides for his pump every 3 days, if it goes to his left side, we pretty much know he's going to have problems because either his tissues are absorbing the insulin and the medicine is not able to do what it's supposed to do, or else it isn't absorbing like it's supposed to (I'm sorry, right now I can't think straight which way it is). But, anyway there you have it, for about 3 days each week he's pretty much going without much insulin at all (he's type 1 - dead pancreas). I sent him, about an hour ago by ambulance to the ER with blood sugars almost at 500. I'm waiting for the doctor to call me now. (Stanley doesn't like me to go there with him, so I stay by the phone.) Please pray that somehow the doctors can figure out about the absorbtion problem with his insulin. Thank you very much for keeping him in your prayers, he's a dear brother. Cheri |
Bible Answer: Dear Skccab (Cheri) : Although it's true that this is a Bible study forum (you don't really need to be reminded of that), there is no earthly reason why an occasional urgent request for prayer should not be honored. This company of believers should deem it a privilege, it seems to be, to engage in intercessory prayer on behalf of you and your friend who is gravely ill. You have been an active member of this forum for quite a while and many of us consider you as "family" now. so the last thing I'd want to see is your sincere prayer request being summarily dismissed and your being essentially ignored on this forum. Of course, I'll pray for your friend Stanley and for you, Cheri, and take comfort in the belief that other Christians on this forum will do likewise. ..... I do want to emphize, however, that the thrust of SBF is Bible study, so by and large it's better to channel prayer requests through other web sites that are designed for prayer requests and capable of handling a large volume of them. Study Bible Forum simply isn't. --Hank |
