Bible Question:
I don't know what version this quote is in, but I hope someone out there can help. the statement goes as follow: "Man you don’t know me, you took all my stuff and ran off. I will hurt you and the only reason I don’t is because God told me night before last to leave you alone." Can anyone one tell me what book and verse the statement is found in the bible? |
Bible Answer: it's in Genesis, and it is about Jacob's father-in-law. Jacob took his two wives, and his own stuff and headed back to his family, and his brother Esau, and father Isaac. His father-in-law came after him, and the LORD stopped him flat, and warned him not to harm Jacob... The translation seems loose, like one of the newer ones,,,, who cares,..... it's fairly acurate in the meaning... I read KJ so I know the solid word to compare with the looser translations. |
