Bible Question:
I don't know what version this quote is in, but I hope someone out there can help. the statement goes as follow: "Man you don’t know me, you took all my stuff and ran off. I will hurt you and the only reason I don’t is because God told me night before last to leave you alone." Can anyone one tell me what book and verse the statement is found in the bible? |
Bible Answer: Looks like a VERY paraphrased version of Genesis 31:27-29 (Laban following after his son-in-law Jacob.) -Chris 27 "Why did you flee secretly and deceive me, and did not tell me so that I might have sent you away with joy and with songs, with timbrel and with lyre; 28 and did not allow me to kiss my sons and my daughters? Now you have done foolishly. 29 "It is in my power to do you harm, but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, ‘Be careful not to speak either good or bad to Jacob.’ |
