Bible Note: Hello Cheri, I understand what the scribes and Pharisees had done. My quote was from Acts 15:10. Believers from the party of the Pharisees were wanting Gentiles to be circumcised and keep the Law of Moses. Paul opposed the idea--not the oral traditions but the Law itself. As for Matt 23:1-5, Jesus was speaking to Jews, not Gentiles. I fully agree with what you say about the Torah. People think the God of the OT is angry and hostile. A thorough reading displays grace, mercy, steadfast love, and long-suffering beyond measure. Steve |
