Bible Question: i have to make a presentation for one of my classes coming up, and i'm supposed to show how the Bible relates to Communications as a study. basically i need key truths and passages that apply specifically to that discipline (Communication Studies). i'm not sure how to look for this, so does anyone have any suggestions? any help would be very appreciated. |
Bible Answer: Hi, Ihavea4... Welcome to the forum! You've got a lot to choose from! How about a study of communication before and after the Fall? How about how God chose to communicate via the verbal plenary inspiration of the Bible; i.e., text? How about all the passages regarding prophets speaking on God's behalf? How about the whole idea of Moses repeating the law in Deuteronomy; i.e., the "second" law. How about a study of the use of the tongue in Proverbs? How about Christ's unique preaching and teaching style? How about the unique genre of the gospels? How about the sermons of the apostles in Acts? How about the epistolary art? How about the unique role of preaching in the life of the believer? How about the passages in 1 Corinthians 14 that deal explicitly with interpersonal communication -- although a lot of folks want to crank out their glossolalia doctrines from that chapter, completely missing the point. Those are just a few off the top of my head. There's sure a lot of options for you. The problem you'll have is narrowing down your choices, not lack of material! In Him, Doc |
